Advantages: Fast processing, easy to download new apps, browse the web etc
Disadvantages: Battery life is poor and requires charging at least twice per day for average use.
It was only in January that I first ever used a Blackberry as I've been a dedicated I-Phone user since the earlier releases of the handset, however after several months of missing out on the hugely popular Blackberry Messenger I decided it was time to depart from my beloved Apple!
After a couple of months of using the Curve 9300 on pay as you go I decided that I really liked Blackberry! It was then that I had a call from my contract provider informing me that I was entitled to an upgrade, this was where the big decision came of whether to go for the new I-phone 4S or the Blackberry Bold.
Each handset had significant attractions however I made up my mind to stick with Blackberry and get the new Bold! The first major difference I noticed between the Curve and the Bold was the speed of the handset, the navigation, loading of apps, downloading of data, browsing the web was all at least 5x faster than the curve, the only downside is how long the handset actually takes to load up from been fully powered off. If you needed to make a call in a hurry and the phone was off I'd advise grabbing a coffee whilst you wait...
The bold is a very sleek and attractive smartphone which can be easily adapted to its specific user, its a simple process to register your details to create your blackberry ID which can then be used to download applications of choice to the handset. WIFI is almost expected as a normal requirement in new mobiles these days and one thing I must say is the connection is really good on the Bold, aslong as you are within a decent range of the signal the data travels as fast as using a laptop or ipad for instance.
The bold has a superb quality camera even though its only a measly 5megapixel the results are comparable to those taken on a professional imaging device, it also has a very bright flash to achieve good results in low light and comes with a sensitive zoom control, face detection and image stabilizer. It also records video in High Definition quality at 720pixels.
Another nice feature is the touchscreen which just makes browsing the web that much easier whilst on the go, you can easily scroll the pages by dragging your finger across the screen, the main thing I like about the bold is how easy facebook and twitter can be integrated and how seemlessly notifications and message are shown as alerts on the home screen.
The device truely is a handset with something for everyone, whether your listening to music, watching youtube videos, chatting with friends on social networks, browsing the web its all so much easier with the Blackberry Bold! The price range is rather steep if you was to purchase the handset only however there are several competitive contract packages out there, would highly recommend.
Summary: A very nice handset ideally suited for the business user
