Advantages: Smooth operating system, long battery life, GPS, bluetooth, internet
Disadvantages: The camera isn't the best but it isn't a camera phone. Ok pictures for MMS
I loves mobile phones. At one point I was buying one a fortnight off ebay because I was buying one, messing about with all the features, then selling it when something new came out.
I have had the Blackberry Curve 8310 for well over 2 months now and absolutely love how smooth it is. Let me explain, when switching through applications on other phones I've found that the phone often becomes sluggish, this isn't the case with Blackberry's. If they do, it is recommended to pull the battery out and put it back in, this is known as a "quick pull."
First look at the Blackberry, I thought, with my fingers, I'll be pressing more than one button at once, this is not the case. I very rarely, if ever, manage to hit more than one button. They're not as fiddly as you'd think.
If you are buying one of these off ebay or second hand make sure the previous owner rings up there mobile operator and gets it de-associated with the blackberry service. It doesn't cost them, or you, anything and you need them to do it if you want to sign up in your name to the Blackberry service.
The Blackberry service means you get your emails instantly with the email address you have chosen to associate with the device.
The battery life of this Blackberry is nothing less than impressive. I text and surf the net a lot! and this has lasted 3 days. I do carry the USB lead with me so I can charge it at my computer but have only actually used it once.
I am impressed with this phone from a media point of view too. I have put full length films onto it after using a media convertor, which there are loads of free ones on the net, to make it into a smaller frame size.
Mine has an 8gig card in it which I got for less than 15 quid, bargain! I have filled it with loads of music, a few films, all my documents and I never delete any of my messages and the blackberry still says I've only filled over half the memory card.
If you get a Curve it should come with the Blackberry Leather Pocket. This is a useful item, as one, it protects the phone, and two, when you put the phone into the case it puts the phone into standby mode which is the reason the battery lasts so long, I think
Basically, if you've had any doubts about entering the world of Blackberry's, after using one for a few days, you're doubts will be nothing more than a distant memory.
Highly recommended
Oh, if you need any help with these devices, the "Crackberry" forums are a brilliant resource for information.
Summary: If you've doubted owning a Blackberry, this one will soon make your doubts a distant memory.
