Advantages: Blackberry messenger is a plus, good internet and app facilities.

Disadvantages: Lots of problems with breakages, buttons stop working, freezing, scratches extremely easily.

After everyone going on about how great blackberrys were when they became popular and everyone getting on the 'bb hype', I did the same and decided to hop on it when it was time to renew my phone contract, which now I know was one of the worst decisions I ever made. Don't get me wrong, the phone was great to start off with, with one of the positive features being the use of blackberry messenger, which makes it extremely easy to communicate with friends who also have a blackberry. However, the honeymoon period didn't last for long. The first problems I experience with the phone was the occasional habit of the screen freezing, so I'd have to take the battery out and restart it every time this happened, at first i thought it was just a one off glitch but this started to happen very often, especially when I'd take a phone call and then the screen would just freeze afterwards and I wouldn't be able to get off the call screen or end the call from my end. I also found that after a while the buttons started to stop working, a problem that I know hasn't just happened to me after talking to friends, and when taken to repair shops they say is due to water damage when my phone hadn't even come into contact with water, except for maybe the occasional spot of rain, which has never effected any other phone I've had. This problem kept occurring, with different letters breaking each time, then the end call button, then the scroll bar. It was a nightmare, until eventually the whole keypad broke and I'd had enough. I decided to use an old phone to endure the last few months of my contract instead of go through the constant hassle. I wouldn't recommend this phone, especially since I know I'm not the only one who's had this problem, newer models might be better, but the curve 8520 is definitely a no go as far as I'm concerned.

Summary: Terrible phone, I wouldn't recommend this model to anyone.
