Blackberry Curve 8520
Advantages: Attractive, handy led notification and music buttons
Disadvantages: Constantly freezes, takes ages to turn on.
If you're thinking of buying the blackberry curve 8520 i would think again.
The phone has so many features that can be really frustrating and in comparison to so many other phones on the market it just isn't worth the money you're going to pay for it.
Where to start, well the first annoying feature begins with switching the phone on. If you switch the phone off yourself and then back on again without taking the battery out then switching the phone on then the phone switches on with just the slightest touch of the power key. You don't even have to hold the button down for a couple of seconds. This is quite handy unless of coures you at a cinema or on an airplane, for example, and you accidently knock the button on your phone turning it on without even realising.
If the battery dies on the phone or you need to take the battery out for any length of time for whatever reason, this is where the problems occur. The phone comes up with a loading screen and the phone can take ages to actually turn on. This can be really frustrating especially if there is an emergency or you need your phone on in a hurry.
Another useless thing about this phone is that it freezes constantly. Whether its when you turn the phone on, using an app or just trying to get to the main menu it more often than not freezes up completely, meaning you have to normally take the battery out and put it back in again. And again returning to my earlier point you then have the awful wait for the phone to turn back on just so you can use it again.
The Blackberry Curve does have some useful features such as the music buttons on the top of the phone making it easier to skip or pause music that you are listening to. The led light that flashes when you have a message or phone call is also handy as it means you can see if you have a message or missed call just by looking at it and without the need to press any buttons. Both these features i did miss when upgrading to a different phone but they become pretty useless when you barely get to use the phone for what its for because its always frozen or trying to turn on.
Blackberrys are definitly not hard wearing either. They don't last very long compared to pretty much every other phone on the market. You'll be lucky if it lasts you a year and for the money you pay for it it's just not worth it.
Summary: Not worth buying, waste of time and money
