I have been given a blackberry curve a work phone due to the constantly being on the road and needing to have regular access to my emails. My personal phone is an Apple iphone 4S.

I was a little curious to find out what the blackberry hype is all about and I must say I was disappointed.

The only real Pro's I can indentify is the BBM, which is a world of free text bundles, even on PAYG, is rendered pretty useless. It also serves a general annoyance of persistant bleeping when people choose to send out group messages every 5 minutes.

As for the rest of the device, the apps are few and far in between and are generally of poor quality.

Processing power leaves a lot to be desired.

QWERTY key board is okay but can prove somewhat fiddly.

Camera is of a very poor quality both in terms of MP and optical zoom

Email set up in very basic and doesnt really compare to the kind of set up you get with an iphone or samsung.

Overall, a poor excuse for a smartphone, and much better competition for the market if you are looking for an exntry level phone, regardless of whether this is for work or pleaseure purposes.
