BlackBerry Curve 9320
Advantages: Lightweight, radio, crisp photos, user friendly
Disadvantages: Day view calander is not a great layout, hasn't got a grip back
I purchased this phone two weeks ago, upgrading from the Blackberry 9300. I bought it as a pay as you go phone as I still had an ongoing contract on my current SIM card. It was hassel free to put in my current contract SIM card so I need not have worried there... Everything worked first time, internet and Blackberry Messenger, so that was a relief!
One of the differences between the 9300 and 9320 is that the 9320 has a radio on it, which is very good and allows you to save your favourite stations. The sound quality is crisp and works well on the built-in speakers.
I like the new layout of the buttons, it looks good and gives you a little more space when using the qwerty keyboard. The camera is of much better quality than the 9300 and the colours are really vibrant.
The only downside in my opinion is the day view calendar layout - I use this feature quite a lot and on the 9320 you cannot view the entire work day, for example, 9am - 5pm. Instead you get the current hour and the next two hour time slots meaning you have to scroll up and down. This is not a major problem but just is not so convenient and quick to view when you are busy!
If you have never had a blackberry before I honestly recommend them. They are excellent durable phones and very easy to use. Blackberry Messenger is superb and I couldn't live without it!
I like the fact that on this phone you can save your most used icons to the favourite panel, this enables you to quickly get to the feature you want, especially if it is low down on the 'All' panel.
Surfing the net is very quick and easy with a good clear, user friendly layout. Again the colours are vibrant and the images/text is really crisp.
The phone itself is lightweight and from a female point of view, sits nicely in your palm. I must admit I do miss the grip backing that was on the 9300 as the 9320 has a smooth, shiny back. Again, not a major issue but it is a feature I do notice is not there!
The battery life is fine and considering that I surf the net and listen to a lot of music on the phone, it does last quite well.
Another feature that I like which the 9300 didn't have is that the camera and video camera has its own icon. This is a bonus as before I couldn't quickly start recording as I had to go the camera icon first and then options and then video camera. This is a welcomed improvement.
The phone also has a podcast icon. This again is a new feature for me on a mobile phone and one that I use to keep all of my Learn Italian podcasts together!
I recommend this phone and at £139 think it is great value for money.
Summary: Highly recommended and great value for money
