Great model from Blackberry but could do better

I first got my Blackberry Curve 9360 phone 3 years ago as part of my upgrade package with my phone contract and was so excited for it to arrive. I had previously had a Blackberry bold which I was in love with so it had a lot to live up to! When it first arrived I was slightly disappointed as it didn't seem as sturdily build as the Bold and seemed a bit cheaper. All of the features are the same such as internet, email, Facebook, text messaging etc... as with all blackberry phones that have the same interface. The internet is easily accessible and you can view pretty much every web page. The Facebook, Twitter and you tube apps are already downloaded onto it so you don't need to worry about doing that when you set up. The qwerty keyboard is brilliant and I much prefer to use it than standard phone keypads. I feel it enables me to type easier and gain quicker access to what I need to do. In sum I feel that Blackberry phones are one of the best models of phone out there and the curve 9360 doesn't disappoint but I would maybe recommend another model as my curve has had a few problems. So far I've had to take it for repair about 3 times because of a speaker issue but it won't put me off blackberry!

Great as a phone, some extra features don't work so well

I've had this phone for just over 2 years and it's served me very well in that time.

It's a small handset that fits easily in your pocket or bag, and for a smart phone it's a lot smaller than an iphone.

It's easy to hold and use for calls, the reception is usually good and you can hear through the headset very clearly.

You can also store music and videos on here with a simple drag and drop system. The music library is simple and easy to use and this phone can be used as an mp3 player. The video resolution is surprisingly good.

The camera is pretty poor. The photos are usually grainy and blurred and the flash is always too bright and leaves pictures in the dark much too over exposed. There is also not much room for video storage.

The keys on the keyboard are very close together and so you need to work up the skill to type on them. When you first get the phone they'll be stiff, but they ease up with use.

The sensitivity of the mouse pad can also sometimes go crazy.

You can throw this phone around and it's very sturdy and tough to break.

From the sublime to the ridiculous

Ahh the Blackberry. Once the businessman's best friend, thrust into the race to become the all-singing all-dancing king of the smartphone.

I can't seem to outright say anything good about this phone without immediately saying something bad.

You take it out of the box, and it's a good looking Blackberry. But its made of material similar to that of teflon, which will slide out of your hand at any given time.
You turn it on, and the screen resolution looks nice on the loading screen, which is just as well because you'll be looking at it for ages while it loads.
Apps, Apps, Apps! There's loads of apps! But they need updating all the time. Which means the constant app icon on your home screen, and more waiting while reboot after every download.
Internet! This phone has it! If you're connected to your wifi at home or out and about, it goes pretty fast. If not, you'll be waiting a minute for a page to load only to find it's not actually loaded at the end of it.
As the for the camera, its really good quality. Although the "shoot" button is actually the little track pad button on the face of the phone. That means just as you're lining up that awesome shot, your finger will move ever so slightly of the capture icon, across to something else. Think you snapped that perfect shot? No, you've just turned on Geotagging instead.

        I could go on....

So if you're an avid Blackberry fan looking to upgrade, you'll no doubt like this. If, like me, you've moved from the touchscreen craze, don't do it. Because like me, you'll end up throwing it in rage.

A good overall phone but there are some issues worth raising with any potential new users.

Prior to owning the Blackberry Curve 9360, I owned its younger sister if you will, the Blackberry Curve 8520. I never intended on upgrading but the features and a shiny new plan sealed the deal with my provider.

Overall my opinion of this phone is positive, I quite enjoy its reliability and generally quick processing power however there are some would say irritating and rather fundamental downsides to the phone, such as its difficult to gauge battery life. The battery seems to be a recurring theme with Blackberry, they either release a phone with a long battery life, or release a phone on the opposite end of the spectrum - terrible battery life! I originally found that if you didn't "lock the keyboard" then the battery would drain away like water through a sieve however once the keyboard was locked the battery lasted for up to 2 days with regular usage. Moral of the story? Lock the keyboard!

Other recurring problems with the Blackberry brand seem to the general lack of "apps" due to the sketchy API Blackberry release in conjecture with their phones. This is something I can confirm with this phone, there are not hundreds of glossy new applications for users to download but at least Blackberry have fixed the problem with the application store - it no longer disappears when you download a new program..

To conclude? A good phone and I would certainly recommend it to those upgrading from an older Blackberry phone; you get what you pay for, reliability and functionality. There aren't any gimmicks or amazing sounds that pop out when you turn on the phone but it works for what I require, therefore a thumbs up!

It would be a brilliant phone if it stopped freezing.

I'll start off by saying that this Blackberry had some very big shoes to fill. I adored my old Nokia, but eventually it got too battered and the screen broke, so I had to move on. Initially I was absolutely chuffed with this phone - the internet browser is easy to use and quite fast for a phone, the camera is decent, there is a wide range of apps available (my favourites are the Facebook app and Word To Go, a brilliant idea that allows you to edit documents on the phone) and it brings everything social into one place.

This last point is, I think, its best feature. I love having all of my emails, texts, Facebook messages and calls contained in one little, easy to use device, and don't even get me started on BBM (although I have found that it drains the battery somewhat).

However, I haven't found it to be all sunshine and happiness. I don't know if this is just my phone or a common problem but it keeps crashing at the worst moments. A little clock appears in the middle of the screen sometimes, like it's thinking, and the only way I can get rid of it is by removing the battery. It often goes for days without one of these little episodes, but they seem to come in fits. If I have a single freeze like that when I turn it on in the morning, then I know that the day is going to be full of them.

As I said, this might just be a fault with my phone, but it's really annoying!

        Very helpful

        fantastic phone!!

I am going to start off by saying i have owned a blackberry since i can remember and i absolutely love them!! So to my absolute horror when my old blackberry curve broke probably due to the fact i had used it for like four years religiously i was absolutely devestated!! I have been so use to using blackberrys i didnt know if i should stay with blackberry or go with a touch screen phone from a differnt make and i actually went with a touch screen phone and i just could not get used to it in the slightest i actually gave it two weeks then i wished i had gone with a blackberry.. i decided to sell my new touch screen phone and buy this beautiful blackberry curve 9360 and i havent looked back since. It is everything you expect from a blackberry, firstly the size is great and its very sleek ( i have also brought a snazzy little cover to protect this phone incase i drop it due to my clumsiness ) and its so easy to message people on it, this phone is for people who love to stay in touch with friends, family and for people who are constantly on the go and love using social media sites and even emailing. I love the fact that it has bbm where you can be even more nosier and see what people are upto and you can update your status and add smilies and stay intouch with friends even quicker. I have also noticed with this blackberry it seems to be alot quicker than my other blackberrys because i know alot of people say they are far too slow but not this one, i can definately tell a differnce straight away!!

I have always been a big fan of listening to music on my phone and this phone is great as it lets you do just that so when i am getting ready for a night out i just have to press play. Other great features for this phone are its easy to set up wifi wherever you are, it has bluetooth so you can connect to other phones which is easy to set up too, taking photos or taking videos is easy to do literally a couple of clicks and its done and picture quality is really good it also has face detection and unlike alot of blackberrys this phone has FLASH!! All im going to say is about time too!! Im not really sure about talk time and stand by time ( how long it lasts for) just because i dont look for that in a phone but i use my phone alot and the battery lasts for absolutely ages even when i play my music.

I would definately recommend this phone to everyone as its so easy to use, its stylish and sleek, there are several colours to choose from, and this phone can be used by everyone young or old which is fantastic. I cant actually find any disadvantages at the moment so its a 10 out of 10 by me!!
