I recently entered the smartphone world almost two years ago, and this was my first purchase! While the phone is clearly out of date now, it's still great and I really enjoy using it.

I'm afraid of an all touchscreen phone, so I chose this blackberry because of the keyboard. The keys are so easy to type on and have a great response feel to them. You can tell when you pres the key, and it feel like a real keyboard.

The screen is small, but it's easy to read texts and e-mails. Sometimes it is a little difficult to browse websites because of the scrolling you have to do, but if you're just looking at a basic page, you'll be fine.

The camera is also a bit weak. The tour 9630 has a 3.2 megapixel camera, which is about 4-5 MPs lower than camera phones that are new to the market. If you plan to take pictures and upload them to your computer, they will be of average quality, but nothing like you would expect from a newer camera.

The blackberry app world is a bit lacking, compared to Android and Apple. However, everything I really need I can find in the appworld, so I don't have a problem.

The Operating system can only be updated to OS5, and I believe that the new BBs are already on OS7.

This was a great phone at the time, but it is simply being replace by the changing market of smartphones. If you're looking for something very basic, this phone is for you, but if you want to keep up with the modern times, I would look elsewhere. Check out the Blackberry 9900 Bold series.
