==Is the product for you? ==
This phone does what is expected of it and more. It does the basics such as ringing, texting, alarm etc, can store mp3's etc, can access thousands of apps on the market place for free, and has wireless capabilities, a highly responsive touch screen, a 3.5mm jack so it can be used as a media system or with any type of standard headphones and runs on the 3g network so you get incredible speeds. If this is what you seek in a mobile phone/entertainment device then this is the product for you.
==The product in one==
Having had this phone for 3 years now I have come to learn about every feature there is to know about this phone. The phone offers many aspects as to why it should be the phone of your choice, and it also offers quite a few reasons as to why you might want a higher spec'd mobile phone.
One of the first things to mention about this phone is its 5 megapixel camera located on the back of the phone. Now usually we would all be pleased with 5 megapixels and don't get me wrong it does take crisp photos - but only in well lit areas. As it becomes the evening or even night time and you try taking a photo with this phone you literally have no chance, there's no night camera and there's no flash so there's no way around it unless you're going to carry a torch around with you which I very much doubt. If you do take a photo then you either won't see it or it will be really blurry and show loads of pixels. One semi - decent aspect to the camera is its autofocus. This is useful as it helps you find whatever you are focusing on and make it more prominent in the photo giving you a better quality of photo, still nothing worth talking about though.
The next thing to mention is just how good it is having an android phone. For me android is definitely taking over in the mobile world, by far out weighing any opponents. There is so many free apps and games to download off of the market place that you will always be left with endless fun, you can even create your own games and apps and upload them yourself which is pretty cool I think. The phone can support a micro SD card up to 32 GB so if you put one of these in then you would be left with a pretty hi-tech smart phone. The phone internal is pretty rubbish not even half a gigabyte which means it's pretty useless when some apps can be a gigabyte alone. One thing to mention about the apps is as the app world is constantly been updated some of the games aren't really compatible with the phone and when you try and play them they are really jittery and pretty much unplayable.
When holding the phone in your hand it does feel pretty solid, as if it is well built, which I must agree that it is because within the 3 years I have had this phone I have no once had any problems and there is hardly any scratches on the phone and I'm quite careless with my phones sometimes so this must show something for the durability of this phone. It's slightly thicker than a lot of phones today and the weight is just average but even so it is a nice comfortable phone to hold in your hand especially with its unique shape. The screen is a massive 3.2inches and when I say I massive I mean because for a phone made in 2009 its screen size is still by today's standards pretty large, which is what people want on their phones now, it also offers multi-touch which phone are still only becoming now which is useful for when playing games or zooming on certain pages or pictures on the phone. One thing that does let it down about the shape is when it's sat in your pocket because the flick on the bottom either digs in to your leg or digs out of your jeans or trousers.
One of the biggest things to let the phone down is its battery. You literally have to charge it daily sometimes before the end of the day if you dared to use your phone. This actually does ruin the phone for me in a way because the phone is designed to play games yet you will only be able to have a couple of hours so you can't use the phone for more than one thing, and if I wanted on or the other I would just buy a PSP for games and a cheap mobile for calls but I wanted an all in one phone and I get lumbered with a phone that can't do anything more than ring a few people a day. It's worse if you intended to use this phones GPS which is good whilst it works, you can use it just like any satellite navigation device, but it will drain your battery so once again this phone is no good for long journeys.
The wireless connection with this phone is pretty strong, it actually detects more access points than my Apple Mac, and this is something that actually doesn't drain this phones battery. Still it can be pretty useless as most people have an all you can eat data plan on their phones, especially if they have a smart phone like this.
All in all I would say this phone is a good phone, especially for people just starting on their first smart phone, but I do not think it lives up to its title the "I Phone killer" at all.
==How does it compare to other Products?==
Compared to products within the HTC Hero's price range then this phone does actually top all these other's, when it was first brought out this phone was labelled the I Phone killer and was what all of the HTC fans had actually been waiting for, I think now it is a slight disappointment and doesn't really live up to that title.
==Does the Product Achieve its Purpose?==
The Product achieves its purpose in providing a cheap; fully touch screen mobile phone, with many capabilities with a lot of room for improvement through updates. Some aspects weren't quite reached properly for example some of the games that can be downloaded off of the android market are extremely laggy on the phone even when nothing else is running at the same time so this is a big let down when there is certain games you want to play, the game for me was "Angry Birds - Space" and "Tiki Kart 3D" Both of these games were to laggy to play.
==Breaking it down==
* 2g or 3g Network
* Dimensions - 112 x 56.2 x 14.4 mm
* Weight - 135g
* TFT Capacitive Touch screen 65k Colour
* Screen Size - 3.2 Inches
* WLAN, Bluetooth and USB
* 5 Megapixel Camera with autofocus
* Video Camera
* Android OS 2.1
* GPS Supported
* Java Supported
* Battery - Standby (2g) 440 Hours (3g) 750 Hours - Talk Time (2g) 7 Hours (3g) 8 Hours
==How to Improve==
I would increase internal storage as there is a lot of apps that could be downloaded and this doesn't let you use its full potential and to make the phone even better I would increase the processor speed and the memory but at the same time these aspects are reflected within the price today.
