The HTC Touch Diamond 2 is a continuation of HTC's collection of phones with a great idea, but questionable execution. While the phone is built to impress, you have to be a real Microsoft fan to enjoy navigating around your handset.

The Touch Diamond 2 picked up where the Touch Diamond left. It is bigger, more powerful and has an advanced version of the Touch Flo Windows Mobile operating system. Most of the basics remain the same and feel too complicated and outdated in comparison to other mobile systems such as the Android or Apple iPhone. Getting down to the underlying settings is more difficult than solving the Rubik's Cube. You really have to know what's where in order to get to it and even then you won't be able to access a number of settings you'd expect to find.

While on the whole, this is a capable phone with a fairly decent camera and all the other niceties of a modern smart phone, it lacks in the small things which make it annoying to use. We were recently trying to save a number of photos from the phone onto the computer only to find out that unless you save them to the memory card, you can't access the photos stored on the phone itself when connected to the computer.

All in all, this is an alright phone given its features and capability and it might even be good if you like Touch Flo. When you consider the contract price, however, it becomes a less attractive proposition as you can get much better alternatives for the money.
