HTC TyTN II
Advantages: Big memory, Fast, Can do pretty much anything.
Disadvantages: Poor camera, low battery life.
I've had a few HTC mobiles now and I have got to say this one is almost perfect in every way however......
If you want a camera phone don't even think of buying this phone, it isn't great in the day time and is pretty much useless at anything other than bright light. Indoors the pictures are pretty grainy, it struggles to focus and only updates the display with what it's going to take maybe once a second.
Battery life is pretty bad too, most of the time I'm getting about two days use per charge which isn't great but sometimes if I've really used the data connection or the GPS I'm lucky to see much more than a day!
So it's not good as a camera and the battery life sucks, why's it almost perfect then?
Well, it works as my phone, I can send and receive text messages, I can phone people and people can phone me..... so far so good.
I can also find where I'm going with iGo 8.3 satnav software installed, I can use Google Maps (traffic, satalite view and street view all fine), I can find a local takeaway or hotel from wherever I am, I can edit my office documents, I can write web pages (more proof of concept than useful), I can play games, I can watch movies stored on my network using the built in WiFi.....
Seriously, there really isn't much this phone can't do!
The keyboard is very useful and really doesn't add to the size of the phone, it's not much bigger than my SPV m700 that doesn't have one it is kind of heavy however.
It came with Windows Mobile 6.0 installed which although good can be upgraded for free to 6.1 and can be further upgraded to 6.5.x using third party roms, each update adding new and improved features.
It can sometimes run a little slow when you have many things loaded at once but considering most mobile phones don't allow you to have more than one thing loaded I think it's a small price to pay, I can for example have my email open, a web browser with a few tabs open, iGo sending me somewhere and a media player playing mp3's in stereo to my bluetooth car stereo all at the same time... Try doing that on your iPhone or any other phone for that matter.
I really could go on for days but I've probably bored you enough by now, at the price of these things they are hard (if possible) to beat, go buy one now you won't regret it!
Summary: Another great phone from HTC and one I'll be sticking with for a while yet!
