iPhone 3GS 8GB
Advantages: stylish, has good features
The iPhone looks really stylish, it has a black glass effect front with the widescreen display and then on the reverse it is similar but states the iPhone model. The design is nice but it does scratch easily so I have a rubber case around it which is better and it pads it out so that if it were to drop it wouldn't break. The dimension of the iPhone 3GS are 4.5"(H) x 2.4"(W) x 0.48"(D) and the weight of the phone is 135g so it really is a light phone and it doesn't take up too much room in my handbag.
APPLE IPHONE 3GS
So, the first thing to start with is the display on this phone, it is vibrant with all of the apps and clear to see where you are going. To access more apps you just slide your finger to the left and you get even more apps so it is easy in this sense to navigate around. You also have the circle button at the bottom which you use to get the menu up and you have your regular apps like calendar, contacts, e-mail, messages, safari (internet) and so many more but then you can download apps from the store to get things like eBay apps or social networking.
The phone has an 8GB hard drive on it but it does enough storage for me although you could do get a bigger phone if this isn't enough for you. The phone also has Bluetooth on it which is good for transferring files to other phones via this method or even to your phone. There is wi-fi on this as well but I have a data allowance on my phone so I just use the internet rather than connecting. It is a good browser and really easy to go online on here and even to use social networking apps is so quick as you just connect through them.
With this phone, the touch screen is really fast to react and I never have any delays or any problems with anything. The screen is 3.5" and is a good size to be able to see everything and even when texting life is so much easier hitting the buttons. The buttons on the screen are big enough to tap and then message show up in speech bubbles like an on going conversation so it is easy to follow for each contact. You can also use free messaging like WhatApp which will show up on your phone but not buzz like a main message will.
To keep your phone secure when you open it up it has a pass code so that only you know what it is and it stops other people being able to access your phone. To add contacts is easy enough to do on this phone as well and then this way you have everyone on your phone. You can add music to this and save images just like all smartphones but if you want to send them to your PC you need to it via USB unless your laptop has Bluetooth. I tend to have my phone on silent a lot so it just vibrates to alert me of message.
I also have my emails feeding through to my iPhone so when I get an email it vibrates just like it would if a text message came through. This is handy when you are on the go as you can check and reply to emails and it saves having to be at a computer all of the time. The phone has a headphone area to connect them in if you want to listen to music while you are on the go so it becomes an MP3 player at the same time as it being a phone, it is a good quality sound while listening.
I find all phone calls are clear and I haven't any issues with losing signal. The phone flashes up with the caller and if you are using this on 2G you get 12 hours of talk time but if you are on 3G then you get just 5 hours of talk time. I feel the battery is ok and lasts me a whole day if I am not doing a lot of calling. It tells you what percentage if battery you have left so that if you are running low then you know how much you have left. It is a green bar so you can see it dropping but I charge my phone overnight and it seems ok.
The camera is quite good on the iPhone 3GS it is a 3 mega pixel camera which isn't as sharp as some phones have but it does work fine and the photos are good enough quality. There are some games that come stored on this phone already and I find there are a lot of good ones. You get an app to the App Store where you can connect to and then buy even more apps but you can also get free apps, just look around. It does use up battery but there are so many good option for the iPhone.
Overall, I love the iPhone 3GS if you cannot afford to pay for the newest models out as they are so ridiculously priced then this is a really good option. It has a lot of good features on it, call quality is great and it is easy to text on and you can get all great apps on here, what more can you want? Some things are not on this model which are on the newer models but really it is a good phone and is quick to navigate around and I recommend it for anyone who would love to get an iPhone.
If you want to get this phone on o2 they have the handset free on pay monthly tariffs or it is £319.99 on a pay as you go plan. You just need to shop around though as so many places have different deals to suit what you need in your day to day life.
