Disadvantages: Has restarted when ive selected the camera a few times
I've had the Nokia e72 for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it.
My previous phone was a Nokia N95 which was stolen so I needed a new phone. I initially didn't like the N95 thinking it was really bulky, but needed a new phone because I had a Sony Ericsson w580i which was awful (all the buttons fell off after a few weeks) so my brother gave me his N95. I really liked the hi-tech Nokia N95 with loads of functions and the ability to download apps, the amazing camera and the ease of use of the phone. I never had to read the instructions I just knew how to use it straight away, it was a very user friendly phone. The same can be said for the e72.
When choosing my new phone I was desperate to get a phone which did as much and was as easy to use as my N95, so the obvious choice was another Nokia. Lately everyone has Blackberrys and I loved how small they were and how stylish they looked. After looking at phones I came across the Nokia E72 and it really caught my eye because it had such a stylish look, similar to a blackberry, but it was a Nokia so would be similar to my N95. After looking at the Blackberrys in phone shops I wasn't really that impressed. They looked good and I loved the qwerty keyboard but the main feature seemed to be the emails which I wasn't that interested in, and I found them quite hard to get used to. The Nokia E72 had the option to link up your emails and receive them on your phone anyway. The only thing that kept bringing me back to Blackberrys was that everyone had one so I thought there must be something else attracting people to them.
The Nokia E72 has everything a Blackberry has and more. The stylish look and the possibility to easily receive emails. While I feel that the Blackberry is more of a business phone I feel that the Nokia is aimed at much wider audience. It is suitable for people who have business related needs. The email function, easy to browse on the internet, Microsoft office is installed so you can view and create spreadsheets, powerpoints, word documents. There is an office item on the menu which means all business related things are together such as Microsoft Office, a calculator, converter, a multiscanner (which accurately scans text and business cards into the phone). You can also make notes, view Adobe PDF. There is also a font magnifier and an Intranet option, allowing you to link your phone up to an Intranet.
As well as all these amazing business options the phone also has a lot of good media functions like an amazing camera (5MP with auto focus and flash), good memory, really clear sound when playing music, video camera. I love the centre square key, it's a touch roller ball so you can just scroll through things really easily. It did take me about a week to get used to it properly but now I'd hate to have a phone without it! It makes browsing so much easier. The internet is really fast and even on YouTube it only takes a few second to load up videos.
This phone has so many functions, even after 6 months I feel like I haven't found out everything this phone does. My boyfriend said it does everything but clean your car, and I think he's pretty much right! It has a torch which is really bright it's definitely brighter than my real torch. There are so many little things that make this phone really different and a phone I will never get bored of because it is so much fun to use. For example, things like options to enabling you to turn off an alarm or silence a phone call by flipping the phone over. Also a search option allows you to search a word and it will search through the phone to find what you're looking for. I find this useful for finding information someone has text me without having to go through all my texts and finding the right texts.
Like many smart phones, you can download thousands of applications for this phone. Because it's quite new there's not as many applications available for this phone compared to other phones, but a lot more have become available since I bought this phone, and loads are free. I've only downloaded applications which are free and I have things ranging from pulse measuring application to weather applications. The GPS on this phone works better than my actual sat nav, it is so accurate and really fast. The GPS also allows great apps that find out your location and then tell you local restaurants and events.
There is also an option on this phone to switch home screens, so you can have a personal home screen and a business one. This allows different shortcuts on each home screen. I don't really use this because everything is easily accessible anyway and I feel it takes longer to switch home screens. This phone is so easy to use. I've never had to use the instructions and there are help options on the phone and also tips to help you make the most of all the functions.
It's a gorgeous phone, I got the silver version and its so different to everyone else's phones. The back of the phone can also be used as a mirror which is handy for us girls! The phone seems to be scratch resistant as well because I've often chucked it in my bag with keys etc and I've dropped it a few times and its not got a single scratch on so far. It did come with a nice little phone case too but I don't really use this anymore, it also came with a screen cleaning cloth and headphones. It's very small and light phone.
The only flaw I have to mention about this phone is that sometimes when I turn on the camera the phone restarts itself. This happened quite a few times in the first couple of weeks I had this phone but now happens very rarely.
The battery life on this phone is amazing, it usually lasts about 5 days and I'm on the internet and using the phone an awful lot. If I don't go on the internet much the phone easily lasts a week. Copying files to my computer is also very easy and quick to do.
Summary: The best phone ive ever had, would definately recommend this phone to anyone
