Advantages: Good speed and reliability as compared to predecessors
Disadvantages: Half sliding mechanism is very delicate
The N series from Nokia has been quite an innovation in its own. I have purchased every N-series on its launch month as a part of my N-series geek and collection hobby. But particularly this baby (N-97) has impressed me a lot. Compared to its past predecessors this buddy fits right in your pocket to the range of features it provides.
When I purchased N97 I had few cons in my mind which were asking me not to purchase this set. These were
A) Slow processor
B) Slow operations
C) Camera reactions are slow
D) Ease of operability
E) Price for all the above mentioned cons
But to my surprise when I had a demo of this piece for about a month, I was very much impressed as none of the above mentioned cons were visible in the set. I fully loaded 8 GB external memory card with avi movies and browsed them with speed and ease. Well I was impressed to large extent.
But still I am worried about one thing which did not bother at the time of purchase. The half slide mechanism. When you turn the phone you can see sensitive wiring diaphragm running behind the sliding screen. So this baby is not for rough usage and that's for sure. So one has to handle with care.
The range of features which I see in this set would only be useful to a techno savvy personality. As I wonder how many of us today use two way digital cam, GPS for so called social networking on the move concept. The wifi is a good option though. Still Nokia can come up with ease of functions for medium users too but as said "This hand set N97 is not for normal usage but for business class and techno savvy personalities" But still one can have a social status of owning a technical gadget as this..!!
Summary: A perfect peice for techno savvy business class personalities

- 12/08/09 I like the look of these handsets, but still too much of an 'unknown' where the design is concerned, for me anyway. |
