As my contract had expired, it was time to buy a new phone. I wanted something a bit smarter than my trusty old Jet (a feature phone). A true smart phone this time (and an Android one at that too). So, I decided to do my research. I was close to buying a phone from LG, but then in one of the reviews found a mention of this one, so I decided to look further.

What immediately struck me about this phone was the screen resolution and size for the price - 800x480 and 3.5". Not too big to hold and good for viewing web pages. However, that is not the only criteria. I wanted to the build quality was OK, so I checked it out in the shop and it felt fine. Maybe not like the iPhone, but solid nonetheless. It came with a 2GB, which is useful and saves buying one. The process is only 600Mhz, but from the reviews it seemed that it can handle most applications without a problem.

I took the plunge and was not disappointed. Simple to use and synchronised with all my GMail contacts, so it saved me manually entering them. I was able to get iPlayer on it, Froyo (Android 2.2), use the navigation software (the GPS is very quick to get a location outside), surf the web (no problems with any sites so far) and check my emails.

Video playback also worked great, especially after installing a third party app through the Android market.

I can't really find any faults with this phone at such a low price. If you want a good smartphone on a budget, it's well work trying out one in store to see if you like it.
