Galaxy Ace - the deception is in its name.

Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830
Advantages: Has the ability to make phone calls...
Disadvantages: Any hope for the phone to perform well with additional tasks is hopeless.
Having owned my Samsung galaxy Ace for a full year before substituting it for the S2, I can't say that I was overly pleased with this phone over the period of time that I had owned it for.
It appears that its name is quite deceiving; 'Ace', being a sibling to the word excellent / top-class, obviously referring the quality of the phone but not so obviously translating into the actual workability of the phone whatsoever.
The phone it-self is quite small and relatively light compared to phones I have owned in the past, meaning it's not uncomfortable to walk around with in your jeans pocket. However - you may notice that it bears an uncanny resemblance to the iPhone 4, and it's difficult not to perceive the phone as just being a bad imitation of the iPhone (as described by a close friend).
When using it for straight forward and simplistic tasks (occasional texting, calling, and light internet usage), the phone is perfectly capable of handling these tasks - but over time its performance drastically decreased, stumbling as time continued to progress. I also noticed that when a bit of extra pressure is put on the phone to perform, it simply cannot handle it e.g. switching from one task to another very quickly such as texting and calling a few people in a short space of time.
When placed under heavy processing pressure it simply could not handle it well and would start to malfunction and freeze, especially when using the internet for an extend period of time.
Given that the phone is the most basic of the Galaxy's, it can be expected that its functionality is inferior compared to its successors - but that may lead you to re-think exactly why it is that you purchased a phone incapable of handling several tasks without freaking out; why not simply purchase a typical bog-standard phone for half the price, or invest a bit more money into a more competent phone. Given that at this point in time the GalaxyS2 is only marginally more expensive than the Galaxy Ace, yet far more capable and proficient, I would recommend heading straight up the ladder and not investing in the Ace.
