Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB
Advantages: Amazing camera and huge, clear screen.
Disadvantages: Large screen can mean it gets scratched easily.
I got this phone as an upgrade to my contract in early November. Having already had an Android phone I found the setup easy, merely setting up a Samsung account before entering my gmail details.
The first thing I noticed in comparison to previous phones is the speed of the phone. Applications open very quickly and the transitions between menus seem effortless. Installation of apps also seems very quick as well as download of apps (although this is probably due to my network - 3 Mobile UK).
The screen is nice and big and has very clear and sharp images. Nice and bright too, but has the function to automatically dim the screen during certain functions as part of the phone's battery saving mode.
There's bags of storage too. I have around 20 full albums on there as well as 2000 pics and it's hardly made a dent in the storage capacity.
I am a keen photographer and was really impressed to find this phone equipped with an 8mp camera. Not only that, the phone has advanced camera functions such as ISO etc that can be manually changed, but is set up to be used as a 'point and click' camera. One of the best camera modes I've found is the panorama setting. This allows you to create stunning panoramic pictures with ease. There's also a host of other settings such as black and white, sepia etc.
Battery life is very good considering the size of the screen. I find I can get a full day's use out of the phone and that's using it a lot through the day. If I don't really use the internet (still have email push etc) I find the phone will stay charged for around 2-3 days.
The size would put some people off, but as a photographer I value having a large screen to show off bits and pieces whilst on the move. Once the phone is actually in my pocket, I really don't notice it's there, presumably due to how thin the phone is. I would however recommend purchasing some sort of screen protector or cover for your screen as with it being so large it can be easily exposed to items that will scratch it.
Summary: Amazing phone. Well worth getting and useful in all types of settings!
