Advantages: Lightweight, small, quite good battery life
Disadvantages: Poor screen, slow typing, plastic feel, rubbish camera.
As my previous contract came to an end, I decided to give a touch screen a go, rather than the good ol' fashioned button 'candy bar' phone. So I came to THIS which is by far the worst phone I've ever owned. Let me run through why this phone is dreadful:
Firstly, it has the speed of a snail waking up from a heavy night out - I can spend a good minute or so waiting simply for a text to open, let alone start to reply on a screen which frequently lags behind my fingers. That's to say, when I type, it takes a second or so for the words to actually appear on the screen: shoddy. As a result of this, I haven't barely bothered using the 'smart' features of the phone, because they are too slow. What's more the screen is small so they don't look particularly good.
It feels cheap and tacky; I concede that its lost cost is an incentive to some people, but I must confess that in moments of frustration where I've been tempted to smash it against my wall, I've worried that unlike previous phones with metal cases, this would simply shatter leaving me phone less.
The camera is atrocious; it's entirely pointless to use. The one benefit was that the phone came with a Micro SD card of 4GB; not sure if they always come like this, but this was a nice addition. I subsequently removed the card and have used it elsewhere; seems wasted in this phone. The battery life is quite good, although has a tendency to be quite odd in announcing that the battery is low; sometimes this means that if it's not connected within 15 seconds it'll die, whilst on other occasions, it'll last for hours.
The greatest benefit, to give some degree of balance, is its appearance; it's nice and small, and has a nice curved back which fits nicely in the palm of your hand. The screen has quite a mirror like surface, which means that it can be used to check your hair etc, although if I wanted a mirror, I'm sure I could find cheaper ones.
So to conclude; avoid.
Summary: A poor phone, and one I wish I had avoided; hopefully you'll heed my advice.
