      My new favourite tortilla chips....

I write this as a hard-core, die-hard Doritos fan. Now, I wasn't expecting miracles from this little packed of tortilla chips when my girlfriend picked them up and said they were good. But, I must say, I was shocked.

This little bag was crammed full of chips! Unlike my beloved Doritos, who fill half the pack with air! So straight away, value for money seems to be present here. Especially as they're only 90p per pack!

But now on to more imprtant things... the taste! At first, you look at them and think they're just covered in that powedery flavour rubbish. But they don't taste like that. They deliver a heavy hit of BBQ goodness with every chip. As much as I love my Doritos, these were on a par with cool original as far as flavour goes! And the crunch is good too! These are a little thicker than Doritos, which is a good thing, and it means the crunch is better. This makes them seems tastier (I'm sure some sciency guy could explain that!). Also, they go so well with an onion and garlic dip!

I know this may sound over the top for the sake of a 90p bag of tortilla chips, but they really are as good as I say! They're perfect with BBQs, lunches and even sitting in with a decent film. Try them with a dip... onion and garlic, salsa, even houmous! Just don't get hung up on the fact that these are cheap Doritos alternatives. Once you've had them, you'll be a convert!

No I'm off for a cold shower to calm me down...

If you like tortilla chips you may like to try these

A 200g pack of these Asda Tortilla Chips (Barbeque flavour) costs 90p.

The nutritional values per quarter of a pack, (which is the recommend serving of 50g) contains 239 calories and 11.4g of fat.

When I first opened the bag a great aroma of summer BBQ's was released. The triangular shaped tortilla chips are yellow-orange coloured and coated in a red coloured seasoning. These snacks taste great and are just as good quality as higher priced branded versions of tortilla chips. I also found that the tortilla chips were almost all in one piece and not crumbled in the bottom of the bag.

They are great to eat as a stand alone snack or with dips, which is how I served them.

My only real gripe with this product is that there is no resealable tab function and it is such a big bag that I think it should have one. That's all. Everything else is good.

I think they are great value for money and would recommend them to anyone who likes tortilla chips.

This product is only available from Asda, in store or on-line at www.asda.co.uk. They are easily identifiable in the shelves in the crisps aisle and the image above is up to date.
