Me and my mate love a bit of a treat in the way of a dessert/pudding and not having a lot of cash but spotting this for a quid we decided to give it a go as we both love chocolate!

The Packaging:

The pinkish coloured box has a photograph of the chocolate brownie cake on the front of it and I'm told clearly what it is on the front as well as being told who it is by and the best before date is displayed. On the back of the box other information given includes a full nutritional chart being stated as long as ingredients and allergy advice and contact details for Asda are given.

The Cake Itself:

Well the cake comes in a white plastic tray, is round and is meant to serve about 6 people which it could do very adequately indeed! The base is a moist chocolate sponge which holds well but isn't stodgy or soggy! The next layer is chocolate mousse which is firm set and is a thick layer which is nicely sweet in comparison to the base which is slightly richer in choccy flavour and not so milky of course. On the top of that shavings (curls) of milk chocolate are heavily scattered and give a nice 'polished' look to the cake.

This cake tastes absolutely gorgeous. Moist and best eaten with a spoon due to the mousse topping as it caves in rather alot t really is chocolaty and moreish and me and my mate polished a whole cake off in seconds! At a pound a cake I'm shocked by it as I'd be prepared to pay much more for this lovely offering from Asda if need be. It tastes as good as it looks, is a great size and is really superb. Recommended from me and my mate whole heartedly...try it for yourself ASAP!
