      Gorss! Minus one!

I love pate on toast but when it comes to it I always buy either mushroom pate or Brussels. However this creamy chicken parfait I decided to give a go when I spotted it reduced from £1.78 to 25p in Asda! I love a bargain me and thought it was very much worth a go for the cheap price I got it for! The Packaging: The parfait comes in a clear plastic tray, with a clear plastic covering that simply pulls back over the parfait to get to it. Over that there is a sleeve that is purple in colour and we are told that it is Asda 'Extra Special', Creamy Chicken parfait 'Velvety smooth chicken liver parfait with a dash of brandy to bring out the rich flavour' the best before date is given and the size is listed which in this case the product weighs 150g and this is the only size I spotted this available to purchase in. On the back of the sleeve other information given includes ingredients and allergy advice, a nutritional chart is shown and contact details for Asda are given. Nice, minimal packaging this is and of course as always from Asda that labelling is informative enough. The Parfait itself: To me I thought that this sounded rather exotic. Looking like pate and called parfait and being deemed to be 'Extra Special', in fact I was rather excited about tryinh it all in all! However I thought this was completely disgusting and such a let down and can see why so much of this stuff was reduced to 25p! Light pink in colour, very smooth and spreadable the first thing I noticed was the odd sweet smell and the smell of weeks old boyfriends socks! Not pleasant at all bealieve me. What you then get is a harsh taste of chicken liver with again a weird sweetness and you can really taste the brandy within it which really doesn't enhance that already harsh flavour that is there one bit. Its rich, sharp and a little bit creamy and easy to spread however I can imagine that if I was to suck boyfriends socks they would taste better than this. It really is simply horrid and chicken liver and brandy are not a match made in heaven in my opinion but a totally gross mismatch and the stink alone of this parfait is enough to put people off wanting to even try it!
