Not bad but not great either!

Not so long ago I found out that I was pretty much food intolerant to everything! Wheat, gluten, dairy and a whole host of other things which has meant that of late I have been sampling rather alot of of 'Free From' products and the one thing I was really scared of missing out from was cookies, cakes and bread and the likes! Not only that, being intolerant to so many things means it really hard to finds things suitable to eat and I find eating the wrong things is making my muscles weak and giving me migraines so I really try hard now to stick to foods I know that are 'safe' for me.

These I spotted in Asda one night and at £1.99 for a small box of them they seemed a little pricey but I thought I'd give them a go anyway.

      The Packaging:

The biscuits come in a see-through plastic tray with a see through pull off cover and in there, lined up are a 8 cookies. The box is yellow and black in colour with two sides of the box appearing the same and we are told that they are Asda 'Free from' Stem Ginger Cookies and that they are Gluten and Wheat free, that they weigh 150g in total and are suitable for Vegetarians. On other sides of the box other information listed includes ingredients, allergy advice, nutritional information and contact details for Asda. Its nice enough and informative packaging this.

      The Cookies:

The cookies are large, round and rather thick and a heavy weight, bobbly and crumbled looking to the top of them and with a base that looks oven baked. Made from tapioca flour and gluten free oats along with sugar and crystalized ginger these are really crumbly biscuits and really, really naturally sweet. Not one bit greasy I feel these taste syrupy more than anything and believe me I have a sweet tooth but these really are sweet! They have a nice through taste of ginger to them with tiny pieces scattered throughout and are moist although they are crumbly but not really very suitable for dipping!

These are great quality biscuits though too sweet for me sadly! Not bad though but pricey for 8 of them!
