Advantages: Tasty and convenient

Disadvantages: Not a long shelf life

Some of the days that I need a sugary snack without wanting the hassle of baking anything, I drop down to Asda to buy some of their freshly baked Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies. These cookies are a great convenience in the way that you can buy them and eat them straight from the pack and they taste nicer than the type of cookies that you buy inside a prepared package because they have been freshly baked in the store; also they do not cost too much, so you can put a limit to how much you are spending on snacks. Obviously, being rather sugary and being cookies in general, they are not exactly what you would call the healthy option, so I do not eat them too regularly; but eaten only occasionally they should be fine since you do need a treat now and again.

These cookies are, I would say, about average priced for a pack of a supermarket's freshly made in store cookies, at £1 for a pack of 5 cookies. However, it does have a "2 packs for £1.60" offer, which you can take advantage of to save you some money. Though these are not the cheapest compared to the preserved, crunchy type of cookies that are available, I still think that they are fairly priced, since they taste as good, or even better, than home made cookies, which cost quite a bit to buy the ingredients for anyway. For the convenience, I do think that these are worth it.

These cookies are packaged in quite a simple paper bag which is folded over and stuck on with a label stating information like the name of the product being sold, the price, and the expiry date. Since these are fresh cookies, they do not have a long shelf life (only about a few days and should be eaten on the day they are bought anyway) but that is alright as it is tempting not to just eat them all up in one go. It does not have the most versatile packaging, but, as I have stated before, it is very convenient, and you can't really expect much more for the price.

These cookies taste really nice; chewy, just the way I like cookies to be. Yes, they are a little bit too sugary for me, but the taste is still really nice and it does have a fair number of chocolate chunks in it, which really add to the taste. As for the size of the milk chocolate chunks, they are of a satisfactory size, not being pathetically small chocolate chips like the ones you find in some cookies. Overall, these taste delicious, though they do make you feel quite guilty when you are eating them since you can tell from the first bite that these cookies have a high sugar and fat content. Again, I would like to point out that these cookies would be good for an occasional treat, not something that I would recommend for you to eat every day.

Asda's bakery section also offers different varieties of these cookies at the same price, which could be interesting to know, for example, white chocolate chip and double chocolate cookies. I have tried them and they all taste really good, but I find myself sticking to the ordinary milk chocolate chip cookies more often than most.

These are nice, tasty cookies that are very convenient and they save you the trouble of having to bake them by yourself from scratch. With the very reasonable price tag of £1 (or £1.60 for 2) for a pack of 5 cookies, I cannot fault these and I would recommend them to you with 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars.

Summary: Worth the price
