Asda Sausage and Bacon Wraps
Advantages: taste, value for money
Disadvantages: none forr me!
Whilst wandering around Asda yesterday stocking up on tinned vegetables I remembered a review on here from someone who had mentioned that Asda had brought out their party food in readiness for the festive season (Thankyou Lools_24!)
With this information in mind I scurried over to the freezer sections and lo and behold I was met with the sight of a tall freezer full of these goodies. I love Asda at this time of the year especially for their choice of party foods so into my trolley I added these Sausage and Bacon wraps plus a few other boxes of tasty treats.
It looks like Asda have changed their packaging this year as my box is different from the one above, it is still a deep red colour and has illustrations of the wraps contained within but the box contains 10 not 12 as shown above.
Asda describe the wraps as being "Juicy pork sausages wrapped in smoky streaky bacon with added water" and nutritional information advises that a single sausage wrap will provide:
0.2g of which sugars
2.7g of which saturates
However if you can stop at just eating 1 then you have great self control because I think these are delicious!.
As we prepared a traditional Sunday dinner of chicken yesterday we cooked these to accompany the roast and it was like having a mini Christmas Dinner lol. The salty smokiness of the bacon and the meatiness of the sausage fills your mouth with flavour and you cant help but enjoy every mouthful.
They always remind me of Christmas and at just £1.00 for a box of 10 it works out cheaper to buy these then having to buy sausages and bacon seperately and preparing yourself. Theyre not the healthiest thing in the world and obviously contain a lot of fat, but the majority of sausages are like that anyway and for an occasional treat I dont think you can beat them.
Allergy advice warns that they contain gluten and wheat and may contain traces of nuts and/or seeds. There are a lot of ingredents listed so wont repeat here, chances are if youve ever had a sausage before you probably are aware of what they contain.
All in all they have to get 5/5 from me, for taste, flavour and value for money you cant go wrong. Available from Asda only (obviously) and priced at a quid!
