On a recent trip to Asda, my husband announced that he was sick of my dieting as there were never any decent biscuits in the house anymore. So with a heavy heart, I steered the trolley into the biscuit isle and let him choose a couple of packets. My husband is a rugby boy, so I was not expecting delicate shortbread fans, but when he came back with ginger nut biscuits I was suprised at his choice. We had never bought these before, and i didn't know that he liked them. But anyway at 37p a packet, I was happy enough. The last time I had eaten a ginger biscuit was when I was pregnant and suffering from morning sickness. I hated them, they were very distinctive and ... Read the complete review

Asda Smart Price Ginger Nut Biscuits Description: Manufacturer: Asda / Type: Biscuits. I must confess that it is Mrs Assasin who does most of the shopping in our house, so often when I try something new, it is because she has bought it for us. However, a work colleague gave me the recipe for a cheesecake recently and it called for ginger biscuits to make the base. So, I duly popped to my local Asda with an ingredient list and bought the necessary items. Mrs Assasin is also a keen buyer of non branded labels, and has become quite impressed with a lot of what the Asda Smart Price range has to offer. It certainly makes sense to ... **** Introduction **** While doing my weekly shop this evening, I made the mistake of going while I was peckish, which therefore resulted in me filling the trolley full of junk food. While looking for nice goodies to eat I came across these Ginger Nut biscuits, as I had not eaten these for years I knew I had to have them. Once I got home I made a nice hot cup of tea and settled down with a new bought packet of biscuits. ***** The Biscuits ***** These ginger nuts are from the Asda value range and cost 36p a packet, which is very reasonable as the branded ginger nuts cost well over twice the price. Anyway ... Read the complete review

While I was in Asda the other day, I suddenly had a craving for biscuits. Asda have a lot of biscuits in their Smart Price range so I thought I would give them a go and as I haven't had Ginger Nuts for years I snapped the packet up. The Asda Smart Price range is very distinctive, with nearly all the packaging following the same format. In this case, the packaging is a long tubular shape, with the traditional green and white colours on the wrapper and lettering. The Smart Price wording is written in black but this is hardly necessary because you know the range when you see it anyway. "Ginger Nuts" is written prominently and is accompanied by the green ... My other half can demolish a packet of biscuits in one sitting and therefore I fight a constant battle to keep the biscuit tin from being empty - to be fair to him he is a marathon runner and therefore burns all the excess calories off, I know for a fact if I ate as many biscuits as he does I would be in serious trouble! Anyway, I have been trialing the Asda Smart Price versions of some of his favourites just to see if they are as good because they are a lot cheaper than the next brand up. These ginger nuts, for instance, are a remarkable 34p per packet and the next brand up is 68p so exactly double the price. The packet contains around 16 biscuits ... Read the complete review
