Advantages: toasted its edible
Disadvantages: everything about it to much to go into !
i felt quite shamed when i decided to write this review for asda smartprice white medium sliced bread, because i had a feeling what i was getting myself into when i brought it. i picked it up hurried to the till and quickly paid before anyone i might have known see me. Now as you might know from my previous reviews im trying my way thru the smartprice range in the hope at end of it my shopping bill might be reduced with the things i found good in this range,
So here we go asda smartprice bread. hmm as per usual with this range the packaging just tells you the basics ingredients, best before date and the like, when i picked it up my first reaction was "are you sure this is medium sliced Mr Asda ?" because i dont think i have come across bread this thin even when a loaf says thin sliced, but even so at 47 pence i had to give it a try.
First i tried toasting it , i slapped two of the painfully thin slices into my toaster and waited for the pop. If your toasting this then stay with it because it toasts a hell of alot quicker than other brands of bread, i had to save mine from cremation ! To be honest as toast its not to sad its toasted bread at the end of the day , thin i know but toast, the major disaster came when it was time to make a sandwitch in which i wasted about 3 slices trying to butter it and not having the bread fall apart. and when its not toasted its just so so doughy its a tasteless ball of dough that it ends up like in your mouth when your eating it , was actually quite vile,
Another thing that shocked me about asda smartprice bread was how short the life of the loaf was before it went mouldy , long before the use by date, i think within three days of buying it the mould started forming on the edges. so that was it for me and i ended up binning half a loaf.
Never again will i buy this product i would rather wait till i had enough money for a proper loaf if all i could afford was smartprice, what a disaster that trial was never ever again lol !!!!
Summary: Na just dont go there lol
