Asda Tiger Bread
Advantages: Nice, fresh, tasty bread that doesn't cost the earth
Disadvantages: Not great for freezing in my opinion!
One of the things I simply adore is bread and my mother calls me the bread bin. Whether its simply eating bread or butter or toasting it...whatever I consume almost a loaf a day if I can get away with it.
Asda do a variety of tiger loaves in two sizes which are 400g and 800g. You can buy it simply as the loaf comes as I do but sliced, or ones made in a loaf tin, sliced or unsliced for every option they sell. My option is usually the Tiger Bread 'Chest' one and I buy it either the 400g size which costs me 70p or the 800g sliced one for £1.20 and it simply comes in a see through plastic bag as it is freshly baked on the Asda premises a far as I am aware of. It does have a small label on it telling me what it is and the size and contact details for Asda and so on are given on that.
This is suitable to be eaten from fresh though you can freeze it if you want to as well. However I am not keen on freezing fresh bread as I find that this loses its desity and natural flavour when its been frozen so if I know I'm not going to use a whole large loaf I simply purchase the smaller one and I find once I have opened it, it usually stays fresh about 3 days.
I have bought the unsliced one in the past though I struggle to cut it without making one holy crumbly mess though I do appreciate being able to choose my own thickness so if you have a steady hand I do recomend getting that one. The sliced one I do find a little thin as it makes a crispy toast which I don't appreciate very much but this is great for sandwiches with the crust being golden and slightly chewy and the middle white bit of the bread being soft, fluffy and nicely seasoned with a great fresh taste to it satisfies my need for bread well lol.
I have made my own bread in the past but it can be a costly an a long process so this for me is the next best thing and so it gets a thumbs up from me. The quality is superb!
Only available from Asda and from Asda.com
Summary: A nice tasty bread!
