      .

I like the fresh Bread that you get up the back of our local Asda at the Bakery bit. It always smells so nice up there, and the prices are ok as well.

This only costs £1 for the 800g loaf. I'm sure it used to be that bit more expensive, but it is a good enough price just now. I don't know if you used to get this Loaf in a 400g size, of if it was another shop that done that, as I think 800g could be perhaps too much for some people since this doesn't have too long a best before shelf life.

This comes unsliced as standard, but you can get Asda to slice it for you. The wife slices Bread pretty bad. It is thin at 1 side and thick at the other. I can slice alright though.

The reason it is called hedgehog is that the top has some Spiky bits on it. Although the spikes are harder, they are still quite soft, and the rest of the Loaf is soft to the touch as well.

I would say you get 3 days use out of this before it gets a bit stale. It is really fresh on the first day, so that bit harder to cut, but still alright to cut. You can always freeze this as well.

A nice fresh Loaf of Bread that has that little twist to it.

beautiful loaf on day on purchase

I HAD to write a review for Asda's white hedgehog bread, its delicious.

I buy the 400g loaf i think they are 69p but normally they are on 2 for £1 which is what i always buy them on.

You can get it whole or sliced, i get it sliced because if i dont and i try cut it myself each slice is like a big wedge and it doesn't last long!!

The loaf has crusty crust and is somewhat chewy and the bread in the middle is really soft, the only problem i find though is that it is best eaten on day of purchase otherwise it goes hard and quite stale quickly.

Another problem is with the packaging, i know they bake these in store and probably package them them selves but they dont leave a lot of room for folding the package over when you have taken a few slices out and want to save the rest for later or sometimes it just rips all open.

I love this hedgehog loaf and i hope they don't stop selling it, i would highly recommend it to anyone.
