Advantages: Great taste and texture, Different/Tasty biscuit
Disadvantages: Sweet, Sickly if eaten too many, Lacks chocolate taste
I go through stages where I crave sweet things and other stages I crave savoury things. I got introduced to these biscuits when I was at my sister's house and she took the biscuit box out of the cupboard for my nephew to choose a biscuit. I pointed to a certain biscuit and asked her what they were and she told me they were Toffypops. I had never heard of them before, but after having one, couldn't resist having another one as I loved the taste and texture of them.
Toffypops are chocolate and toffee biscuits which aren't very easy to get hold of. I haven't seen them in any supermarkets and the only place I find them is in pound shops at my local Martin's often have them on offer for £1 so I normally purchase them from there.
~ PACKAGING ~
The biscuits come in a black plastic tray which is wrapped in a purple plastic wrapper for freshness. On the front of the packet it says ToffyPops in large yellow lettering and it has a few pictures of the biscuits on the front. On the pack I purchased it also states that these are reduced from £1.29 to just £1! On the back of the pack you will find the usual information such as ingredients and nutritional information. It also states that the product is made by burtons food which is a company I have not heard of before.

~ APPEARANCE/SMELL ~
When you open the end of the packet you will need to pull the black plastic tray out in order to get a biscuit out. There are 2 biscuits in each section, so in total there are 10 biscuits in the pack. When I opened the pack I was expecting to smell a really sweet, chocolatey smell, how-ever I was wrong and could smell a biscuit type smell with no hint of toffee or chocolate. The biscuits are round and you can see that the top of the biscuit is covered in a very thin layer of milk chocolate. The biscuits feel slightly rough on the top, even though it's been coated with chocolate.
~ TASTE TEST ~
I bit into the biscuit and my teeth sank into the soft biscuit and into the toffee. The biscuit was quite crumbly and a few crumbs did appear on my lap after taking a bite from the biscuit. As start to chew the biscuit you will find the toffee inside and this makes the biscuit slightly chewier. This is a nice texture to the biscuit. When eating the biscuit I couldn't really taste of the chocolate layer on top of the biscuit, perhaps it's because it's such a thin layer. After finishing the biscuit I felt satisfied and enjoyed the yummy, chewy treat. Although the toffee was chewy, it didn't any bits tuck to my teeth as I expect toffee to do. I think if you ate too many of these they would become quite sickly, as they are quite sweet.
~ OVERALL OPINION ~
As the biscuits are hard to get hold of I can only enjoy them now and again which is probably a good thing as the toffee and chocolate isn't good for you, especially for your teeth. Considering I paid just £1.00 for these biscuits I think they were very good value and well worth buying. These are well worth buying and popping into your biscuit box as a different kind of biscuit treat. I give these biscuits 4 out of 5 stars and would recommend them to others, especially if you have a bit of a sweet tooth.
