I like more savoury snacks rather than sweet, and would always choose a bowl of Popcorn or Crisps before some Cakes and Sweets. I buy a pack of the Microwave stuff and can nibble at a whole pouch myself, but it does take me a little while to get through it.
I usually choose the Savoury Butter one, followed by the Salted one (There's never nearly enough salt on it, and I have to pile a lot more on - yes, I know, not that healthy!) I decided to buy this kind last month when I saw it on offer in Sainsbury's for £1 for the pack of 3 bags. I think it normally costs around £2 in most shops, and probably most certainly in Sainsbury's as it is expensive there!
Anyway. A small-ish cardboard box. This is a sort of grey/silver colour and has the lettering quite large on the box and a nice picture of some Popped Corn. Just like the Dooyoo picture in fact - funny that!
Each bag inside is 100g, and is folded into 3 folds. The bags are wrapped in a cellophane wrapper, and you remove this wrapper, place the bag on the side with the bottom down and put the Microwave on. The sides are clearly marked, and to look at the bag there is only the way it goes, or if you try and put the bag with the 2 folded bit on the bottom of the Microwave then this is the wrong way around.
Per 100g bag this has 410 calories and 17.7g of fat.
There is the cooking instructions on the back of the bag and also on the back of the outer cardboard pack. It depends on your Microwave wattage as to how long this takes. You are best to stay quite near to the Microwave, as this doesn't take long to cook, and even 20 seconds too long makes the difference between fluffy tasty Popcorn, and burnt singed bits! You listen to the Pops and when the popping slows down to a pop ever 3-4 seconds then that is it cooked. My Microwave is a 900watt and It takes about 2 minutes 30 to cook this bag.
Once cooked you jsut open the bag at the top. This is easy as it is paper, and tears easily enough. Watch out for steam though, as you will probably see some escaping when you rip this open. Just pop in a bowl and enjoy.
The only thing I don't like so much about Microwave Popcorn is if you cook the bag you have to eat or bin the bag. It still stays fresh the day before, but it is a little stale-er, and if only this could be in smaller bags such as 50g, then it would suit if you just wanted a bif of a nibble. Therefore if you wanted a larger munch, then you could just cook 2 of these.
I liked this taste. It isn't 1 I would eat that often, as i'm not so used to Sweet Popcorn. It wasn't overly sweet, but it tasted like Cinema stuff with just a hint of a Sugary taste. I will buy this again on the odd occasion.
