“ Brand: Cadbury's / Type: Cake „
I like all the Mini Roll varieties that I have tried. Yes, I would say the Original ones are the best, but when Asda was selling the range for £1 a pack, I kind of set out to try them all - what a fun game. Normally Mini Rolls cost around £1.40 per pack of 6, so £1 was a little saving.
The packaging is ok for these. The Mini Rolls are individually wrapped and they sit in a cardboard tray. I always think this is an un necessary bit of packaging, but I guess it does a good job of them not getting squashed, and also since it is cardboard you can just pop it into your Blue Paper recycling bin. The wrapper is a Purple, thin cellophone wrapper and this has a Picture of a Mini Roll on the front. The writing is in White, so that stands out alright, and there is a bit of a yellow smugde on it as well, which will be to indicate the Caramel side of it.
Mini Rolls are fat little Cake Pieces which are covered in Chocolate. The Cake that is inside is kind of like a double Chocolate cake. IT is spongy, quite light and pretty moist. Running from the middle of the Cake and spiralling out the way is a stream of thick, sticky Caramel. To look at the Caramel it doesn't look like the layers of it is a lot, and you would think you can't taste it, but as I said the Caramel is quite thick and sticky, so you certainly taste this through the Cake. There is a thin coating of Cadbury's Milk Chocolate over the whole Roll. Although the Chocolate is adequate, I guess a bit more wouldn't go a miss in my view.
Each Mini Roll has 145 calories, so pretty average for the snack.
These aren't my favourite, and I would buy the Original, Double Chocolate and Strawberry ones before this. They are nice enough, but I just find the Caramel a bit sickly, and miss the Cream filling that you get in other Mini Rolls.
