“ Brand: Cadbury / Type: Cakes / Sweets „
Ok so we are past Christmas and I ate these at Christmas however just last night I stuffed a box of these down my cakehole and bought them in Asda last night at a pound a box as I really fancied a chocolate fix.
I love the brand that is Cadburys and I love the chocolate and know it will be quality and I do love a bit of a chocolate coated cake occasionally!
The box is oblong in shape and the box is red and purple in colour with a Christmas scene depicted and a photograph of the logs are also shown and we were told that that they are Cadbury Mini Yule Logs 'Triple Chocolate' and there are 6 festive cakes inside the box. Other information on the back of the box includes being told a bit about the yule logs, ingredients and a nutritional chart are given as are contact details for Cadburys. Inside the small yule logs come lined up in a clear plastic tray with easy to pull off see-through plastic. Informative enough packaging this is.
The Yule Logs:
Well they are small and to be fair they are called mini for that reason. They are little tubular and log shaped, bitesize pieces of log, on the outside there is a thin layer of Cadburys milk chocolate which is dusted evenly with powdery sugar, then inside a light brown chocolate sponge which is moist and chocolaty resides within it and then to the middle you get a swirl of chocolate flavoured buttercream.....though not very much of that at all.
The chocolate coating on these isn't the nicest for some reason. It is thin and crispy and falls off the log easily when trying to consume it and for me is a bit too sweet and not creamy enough. The sponge is light and airy though and tasty enough but thankfully there isn't an awful lot of buttercream within each log because it is rather powdery and grates on the teeth in not a very pleasant way at all.
All in all I just don't think these are great sadly. They look nice, are a nice mouthful but are in my opinion nothing to get excited about at all.
