      .

The wife got a pack of these the other month when they were on offer for £1 in Sainsbury's. I think some Mini Rolls are still on offer for £1 a pack in some Supermarkets, but not sure if it is still Sainsbury's or anywhere else. I like Mini Rolls, but it is normally just the normal ones. The Double Chocolate ones are quite nice as well, but I hadn't thought to try these before. There was just something that sounded a bit sickly about these, but for the price and also I knew the wife would eat them all up anyway. These come in a pack of 6. They are individually wrapped and in a cardboard sleeve with an outer wrapper outside. The pack is quite colourful and it has a splash of red on the front probably to indicate the Strawberry in these. These are just the same idea as the normal Mini Rolls. The Sponge is light and fluffy and the covering of dark Chocolate is quite thin, but strong as well, so you can taste the more bitter taste mixed with the sweet sponge. The Strawberry Jam runs through the sponge and in a spiral shape. The Jam doesn't look that thick, but it gives a nice sweet sticky taste. There is just the right amount of each of the ingredients. These were nice and I was surprised at how much I liked these. They are a nice change to the normal ones and I would pick up a pack of these again.

        Cadbury's Mini Rolls with strawberry

Is it the nation's favourite chocolate, the round roll of sponge or the jammy swirl that make Cadbury Strawberry Mini Rolls your favourite? That is the question posed to us on the side of the packaging of the delicious Cadburys Mini Rolls with strawberry. Well, for me it is all of the above ingredients that make these cake absolutely delicious. A mini roll is basically a chocolate round sponge with strawberry jam and a vanilla flavour filling covered with milk chocolate. Luckily the chocolate is real Cadburys chocolate. Cadbury's have been making chocolate since the early 1800's when John Cadbury began producing it, as well as tea and coffee. Cadbury's is now the worlds largest confectionery manufacturer. The layer of chocolate is quite thin but it does cover all of the roll so you definitely do get a lovely chocolatey taste. When you bite into it the chocolate flakes off. The sponge is lovely and light and airy and really moorish. The inside of the roll then has a wonderful mix of tasty sweet jam and creamy vanilla filling which work well together and adds a bit of sweetness to the roll. The wrapping is very easy to spot, it's the traditional Cadburys purple wrapping with mini rolls written in a bubble type writing. The word strawberry is written in red on the side so you know that these have the strawberry flavour in them. Now, my one problem with these rolls is that they are way too small, ok I know they are called mini rolls but can't Cadburys call them mega rolls and make them a lot bigger. They are probably only about 6 cm's long and one definitely does not fill em up so I generally have to eat two! Cadburys do say these are perfect for a great lunchbox snack so I can see how these would work for that, I would just like them bigger!! Each roll contains 125 calories which is not too bad. You can buy a pack of 6 rolls for £1.29 and at the moment Sainsburys are selling them for £2.30 for two packs of six.

          Nice tasting picnic snack.

I am a huge fan of Cadburys confectionary products. Anything which has that delicious dairy milk flavour is onto a winner for me. Cadburys has been around so long (over 100 years now) that there are so many products to chose from. I tend to prefer the original ones, although I like a little bit of everything. I love the normal mini rolls, so when I saw these Strawberry ones for sale in the shop I just had to try them. The rolls come packaged very similar to the original ones, it is onyl one close inspection you notice the difference, so it maybe easy to pick up the wrong ones! The rolls come in plastic purple packaging (traditional Cadburys colours of course!). I am not sure if this packaging is recyclable or not. The outer wrapping is easy to remove and gives way to a cardboard tray sitting below it. Inside the tray are individually wrapped mini rolls. You have to move the individual wrapping carefully as the mini roll is quite fragile and can break easily. The rolls are about two inches long and one inch in diameter (roughly-I am not that good at measurements!) They are coated in a thin layer of chocolate (which of course being cadburys is delicious). Inside the chocolate layer is a layer of sponge rolled up with cream and strawberry jam. It cant be real cream as these dont have to be kept in the fridge, but it is cream tasting all the same. The strawberry jam is the only addition but it really makes a change. It makes the roll more zesty and a little bit different. It makes me think of summertime picnics! These mini rolls taste great. They are a little more expnsive than the shops version of cakes, but good for a treat or when they are on special offer.

          See review.

I am afraid that due to the number of different cake bars that I purchased for my birthday, (see Cadburys mint crisp cake bars review!), I have a few reviews on these little beauties! The cakes I will now review is - "Cadburys mini rolls, strawberry" These are all in the same format, that being individually wrapped cakes within a larger packet, though I have just noticed that the mini rolls give you an extra cake per pack... bonus! The outer wrap is a plastic sleeve, this holds all the normal information. This being brand name, product name, flavour and to tempt and titivate your taste buds there is a picture of one of the mini rolls with the end bitten off to expose the inner glory. Once removed from the excessive amount of packaging you will find a delicious looking and smelling chocolate covered roll. The roll is around 2-3" in length and covered with thick milk chocolate. Once you crack your way through the outer shell you find a delicious and light vanilla sponge, with a cream and strawberry swirl snaking through the centre of the roll. The taste is again wonderful. The chocolate is terrific, but what did you expect from Cadburys. The sponge is light with a hint of vanilla and the strawberry sauce and cream filling compliment the entire affair. The nutritional information is as follows - Per mini roll, 125 kcal 1.2g protein 17.7g carbohydrate 14.0g of which sugars 5.5g fat 2.8g of which saturates This product states that this ,may contain traces of nuts. These are currently available as an ongoing offer, available from Asda, this is buy 3 for £3.50 and there is a vast selection in the offer, ranging from mini rolls through to the cake bars.
