Advantages: Tasty, quite healthy.
Disadvantages: Price.
I recently reviewed the Eat Natural bar with almonds, apricots and a yoghut coating, and after being impressed with that one I decided to buy another one! This time I bought the milk chocolate coated bar with peanuts, pistacios and cranberries. I have to say that the range is quite good, with about seven different bars, some coated and some not, and with different fruit and nuts in them, so I think most people could find something that they liked in the range!
As I said, I purchased this bar because I had liked another in the range. However, I also liked the packaging with this bar, and again the fact that it is mostly see-through so you can see what you're buying!
I thought that this bar looked especially appetising, as you can see all of the contents without some of it being obscured by a yoghurt coating, as the other one had. Underneath the bar you can see a thick layer of milk chocolate which also looks appetising!
The packet is easy to open and I think it is recyclable.
When you take the bar out of the packet, it is not crumbly and nothing falls out so you can take the whole thing out without needing a plate! When you bite into the bar, you get a mouthful of well combined tastes and flavours, including the flavour of the two different types of nuts (which go well together), and that of the cranberries. There is not too much chocolate but you get that nice chocolatey taste and that and the cranberries add a bit of sweetness. I like that because I think that without those two ingredients the bar would be quite plain.
The taste is very good, with that balance of sweet and savoury and the ingredients are combined well together.
I also really like the texture, because there is soft sort of rice pieces, with crunchy nuts and the smooth milk chocolate on the bottom.
I think that this bar is quite healthy because it has a lot of natural ingredients and the only thing that could be seen as unhealthy is the chocolate, but there is not very much chocolate, not like in a whole chocolate bar for example.
I find the bar to be quite filling, as you do get 50g of it. I think this is more than the average amount of cereal in a bowl.
There is another similar chocolate version of an Eat Natural bar, with dark chocolate that might also be worth a try.
Overall I recommend the taste of this bar. The only negative is that this range is quite expensive, at about 75p a bar (but the amount you get makes up for this I think).
Summary: Recommended as a healthy snack.
