Whilst I love fresh lemons (in drinks - I can also eat slices of fresh lemons on their own!!), strangely I'm not keen on anything lemon flavoured such as cakes or lemon tart etc. However, the other day I was in a 'sweet' mood and fancied something to go with my cup of tea. The only thing available was these Bakin Boys Lemon Cupcakes.

I usually have the chocolate ones which I love and so I was a bit disappointed that I had these lemon ones instead. HOWERVER, when I tried them, I was pleasantly surprised.

The cupcakes are very pretty and neat looking. The cupcakes are quite small and easily fit in your hand. There is a lovely thick amount of icing, lemon icing which is sat on top of a vanilla sponge. The lemon and the vanilla compliment each other really well.

If like me, you do not like lemon-y things, I can assure you that the lemon is not that strong. It's very sweet and has a lovely pleasant taste. They are very refreshing and make a nice change from the chocolate ones as they are not as sickly.

These are available from most supermarkets, and they are very often on offer, so it's worth looking out for a bargain.

I really enjoyed these cupcakes and would definitely have them again. I think that they are great for lunchboxes, as a treat or great for a tea party. They come in a cardboard box and each cake is individually wrapped which means that they stay fresh.
