Having tried Fox's Classic Bars a little while ago I was really pleased and when I was at the shops the other day I saw these and thought they looked nice and worth a try especially when only at the price of a pound. I also remembered the advert with the gangster panda - Vinnie I think - which promised top notch biscuits so in the basket they went.

These are called Fox's Crinkles Chocolate. They come in a light brown packaging with a black plastic tray inside. I am not sure that the inner tray is that necessary but there you are. Each biscuit contains 70 calories. The packaging is slightly better quality, thicker than most biscuit wrappings and there is the familiar multi-coloured Fox's logo. It all looks nicely presented. However, when I went to look and see what exactly they were, I was left a bit stumped because it doesn't actually say. It states that they have real milk chocolate but doesn't tell us what the rest of the biscuit is which I found a bit odd. It also states on the side of the pack that it isn't suitable for those with nut allergies so I thought perhaps it was some kind of nut biscuit but on further investigation it turns out that this just happens to be made in a factory that uses nuts. I am still not sure what exactly the crinkle bit is.

The biscuit base is golden and crunchy. It has quite a moist taste to it so I suspect that there is probably quite a bit of butter used in the baking process. It is also quite sweet itself which is probably due to all those little sugar granules that I can see glistening away in there. The milk chocolate is very, very rich and creamy and a cut above most chocolate used for topping biscuits; it's ridged in a similar way that digestives are which makes it nice to look at.

These are quite nice but I think I find the chocolate just a bit too rich for me and think the plain variety might be nicer. Still not bad for a £1 certainly.
