Advantages: Lower in fat than some other crisps, crunchy.
Disadvantages: As with all crisps, fairly hefty fat content
These were another type of crisp I never had as a child. I do remember trying them for the first time though. I spotted them on offer whilst I was at University & decided to give them a go as Monster Munch (my usual purchase at the time) was full price.
Wheat Crunchies describe themselves as "crunchy wheaty tubes" & contain no artificial colours, flavours or MSG. Each bag weighs 25g. The Worcester Sauce flavour comes in a brown packet with the name on the front. The ingredients, nutritional information & contact details for KP foods can be found on the back.

Price:
I paid £1.00 for a multipack of these which contains 3x Worcester Sauce, 3x Crispy Bacon, 3x Spicy Tomato plus 1 random packet of any of the three flavours.
Taste & Opinion:
On opening the packet theres's a slight aroma that hits your nose. It's not that strong & you can't really tell for certain what it is. However, I am notorious for having a rather bad sense of smell so maybe other dooyoo-ers would have a different opinon. As stated on the bag these crisps are "crunchy wheaty tubes". The tubes are hollow & around 3 - 4 cms in length.Colourwise, they're a sort of murky orange/yellow but part of this is down to the flavouring on the outside of the tubes which you can feel when you pick one up. Some of this coating with inevitably come off on your fingers / hands but it's not as greasy as some crisps.
The texture of the crisps is quite rough & they're harder than crisps such as Walker, Monster Munch etc. For crunchiness I'd probably say that they're slightly harder/crunchier than NikNaks but not as hard/crunchy as Discos.
Tastewise these are ok, but nothing to write home about. They have a slightly tangy edge to them but they're not so strong that I'd call them spicy. The taste is strong enough to stop the crisps being labelled as bland but it's not overpowering. I've never actually tasted Worcestershire Sauce so I've no idea whether or not these crisps taste anything like it does. From reading the ingredients you can see that these are made from wheat rather than potato but you'd never pick up on that if you hadn't read the ingredients.
The tubes themselves are also a little denser than some other crisps so whereas you may feel as though you've eaten nothing with something like "Skips", you do actually feel as though you've had something to eat with these wheat crunchies. In terms of the 3 flavours in the multipack this is my least favourite.
Fatwise these crisps are better for you than Discos (29.6% fat) or NikNaks (around 38.3% fat). They clock in at around 25% fat, which isn't healthy by any stretch of the imagination, but there are worse crisps out there on the fat content front.
