      Lovely bread and healthy too!

I absolutely adore bread and although I have a love of white bread I know really that I should eat wholemeal and do try to stick to buying it in the main!

This Hovis loaf is available in a sort of half size and full size family loaf. In a see-through and bright yellow plastic bag basically on it we are told that it is Hovis Original Wheatgerm on two sides of it and then on the base of the bag we are given information such as ingredients, allergy advice, nutritional information and contact details for the manufacturer. Nice, informative enough bag this is and of course the whole lot is freezable.

      The Bread:

Well these are average sized slices of bread with thin crusts on each and of course a thick crust to each end. Light brown in color and relatively smooth in feel they are not all that thick slices and due to going crispy in the toaster I think these are best used to make sandwiches with etc.

Taste wise well this is great bread. Moist enough without being doughy with a slightly nutty and naturally sweet and seasoned taste, this is able to be topped or filled with whatever you want and holds itself well and it makes gorgeous fried bread if you want to be naughty lol.

At only 90 Kcal a slice this is better tasting, to me than many diet types of bread such as Weightwatchers or Nimble and is packed with the heart of the wheat and with plenty of Vitamin E, B1 and B6 and being suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans alike this gets a huge thumbs up from me but the only downside with it is the toasting issue....unless you like crispy toast!

Available in all good supermarkets etc and a small loaf will cost about 60p and the standard sized loaf about a pound ten!
