Advantages: Tasty!!
Disadvantages: None
Everyone knows what Hula Hoops are right? Well, if not, they are 'potato rings' - no, these aren't the Hula Hoops as in the hoops you swing around your hips!
I have been eating Hula Hoops for as long as I can remember. I love the potato taste. They also taste a bit healthier than other crisps as they aren't very greasy as all like the likes of McCoys which whilst I love them, they are so unhealthy.
I like all of their flavours, however my all-time favourites have always been 'Ready Salted', 'Salt and Vinegar' and 'BBQ'. They are full of flavour, and you never get a one with no flavour on them (you like you get with popcorn - where you have to search through a load of bland tasting ones until you find a really good and tasty one).
I find these crisps to be quite filling and so they make a great snack. They are great to eat alone or they go really well with a cheese sandwich or with a cuppa soup.
They are a fun shape and a bit different to 'normal crisps'. Kids love these as they can put them on their fingers and so it makes them fun to eat. They also have fun games for children to play on the back.
Nutritionally, these aren't bad at all- one pack of Salt and Vinegar Hula Hoops will set you back 128 calories, 0.8g protein, 15.2g Carbohydrates (0.2g of which is sugar), 7.1g fat (0.7g of which is saturated), 0.5g fibre and 0.3g of sodium.
Obviously I wouldn't recommend eating them all the time, however as a one-off snack, I think that they are quite good.
These crisps don't contain any artificial flavours or colours and no MSG. They are also made with 100% sunflower oil.
Flavours available include: Ready Salted (Red packet), Cheese and Onion (Green), Salt and Vinegar (Blue), BBQ (Brown) and Chicken (Orange).
You can expect to pay around 70p (haven't the price of things gone up???!!) for a bag of Hula Hoops or around £1.90 for a multipack of 6.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this crisps.
