Advantages: Yummy; Like fresh bread

Disadvantages: None

I love these sorts of bread rolls that you cook in the oven and I thought I'd found the best ones in Tesco but the other week we popped into Iceland and I got a pack of their own brand ones and they're even better!!!

They are part baked so take about 10 mins in the oven but you have to watch that you don't cook them for too long or they will start going majorly hard on the ends. I don't hold this against them though because all these part baked baguettes are the same.

When they're done the crust is nice and crispy, they go a lovely golden brown all over and don't look patchy when they're done like the Tesco ones. They smell gorgeous when they're cooking and it's like having proper bread baking in the house, some of these part baked things have got a bit of a weird doughy chemical taste but these smell like fresh bread. Yummy!

The inside of the petit pains is wickedly fluffy and soft, the flavour comes soooooo nice from the bread as well as just the crust. Usually the flavour is from the crust and the bread is bland in things like this but these have got a yummy fresh taste all the way through.

They're wicked just with butter spread on them because the butter melts in nice and simple into the hot bread. They can be used like any other bread roll though, dead cold stuff isn't that good in them like tuna mayo and that because the bread warms the mayo up and that's not nice! lol Anything else is good though, today I had one with bacon and tinned toms and it was yummy. The bread soaked the tomato juice up lovely and that gave the whole butty a delish taste.

They're also good dunked in soup because the petit pain soaks the flavour of the soup up good and makes it loads more filling than just having a slice of bread with it.

They cost about £1.09 for the 4 rolls, they're pretty big though so well worth the money I reckon. It's the sort of product that Iceland would have on BOGOF as well so look out for a bargain, worth the price anyway though.

Recommended!!!
