I brought a twin pack of these in my local newsagent shop at the weekend for £1. I hadn't seen them for years and knew my son would like them too. I would say they are a retro food as they have been about for so long. A blast from the past that brings back those childhood memories.
I was surprised to find that they weren't already on Dooyoo so I could review them so thanks for dealing with my suggestion so quickly Dooyoo workers.
Happy faces are biscuits made by Jacobs who are also known as the united biscuits company. Each pack contains 10 biscuits which are protected from being broken in a plastic container that holds 2 biscuits in each space. You cant miss the packet as it has smiling biscuit faces smiling at you.
Each biscuit is double sided sandwich with a smilie quite comical face on each side like it's been etched into the biscuit. One side has a deeper engraved face which then shows the filling through the eyes and mouth giving the biscuit character. There are several different faces but they are all smiling. You'll find yourself studying each face before you eat it or I do anyway.
The filling in the middle is one of Raspberry jam and cream filling. They taste nice but are slightly crumbly when you bite into them. The nearest equivalent to these biscuits would be the Jammie dodger which also boosts the jam filling but not in raspberry like these happy faces.
No artificial colours or flavours and no hydrogenated vegetable oil..
There are 77 calories per biscuit and 3.7g of fat.
These are available in Tesco and Ocado at 91p a pack.
The reason for my 4 out of 5 star rating is there's no chocolate which I do prefer at least a layer of on biscuits. But it was nice to try these biscuits again after many years of not even seeing them in the shops.
