Yesterday I took my elder son to the Tesco which is about 10 minutes away from us. We found a new treat we haven't seen before so we took two Jammie Dodgers: one is the original and the other one is with custard. Well, both of them are fabulous.
First impressions
-----------------------
The Jam'n Custard Jammie Dodgers come in a yellow wrapper and the logo is surrounded by a huge red spot which looks as if it is the jam. There is a biscuit on is showing how the content looks like.
When I opened the pack I found a white cardboard tray in it and there were 8 sandwiched biscuits in it. The round shortcut biscuits are put together with a filling of jam and custard but half of the biscuit is filled with the jam and the other half with the custard. In the middle of the top biscuit there is a heart shape cut out where you can see the filling of the biscuit sandwich. I found them very appetizing. My sons love it too. It has a delicious sweet smell and I really sorry that there are only 8 biscuits in the pack.
We bought it in the Tesco for 43 pence per pack as they are on offer for half price. The 8 biscuit sandwiches weight 150 g. There are larger packs available too. We choose this one because we wanted to try them out. The half price offer lasts until 12 December 2009.

My opinion
----------------
I really love these shortbread biscuits. They have a wonderful vanilla smell and the freshly opened biscuits are crispy and are melting in your mouth. The jam in the sandwich is really tasteful raspberry flavour jam which is smooth and sticky. You have to be really tricky to get the biscuits apart as they stick strongly to each other. I think these biscuits are healthier than the chocolate covered ones so I will definitely buy them for my kids in the future as well. I bake them once or twice a week but it is always good to have a few in stock to the case when I don't have time to bake or I'm not in that mood.
Summary: Don't buy all of them, leave me at least a pack on the shelf!
