Delish Cereal Bars, I Could Eat Them All Day Long!

I eat loads of cereal but am not mad keen on it first thing in the morning, I usually have it in the evening and get something else for breakfast. Nutri-Grain was on offer the other week so I brought a couple of different flavours so I've got something a bit different for my breakfast and when I want a snack. They are soft pastry cases with fruit inside, there are loads of different flavours now like strawberry or apple but these blueberry ones are deffo my favourites because they're sweet and fruity at the same time with a delish sweet blueberry flavour. The Nutri-Grain bars are very soft and crumbly when you eat them, sometimes when I have one of these it feels like I'm eating cake for breakfast and I've actually had these with custard and they're proper nice for pudding like that. The pastry isn't crunchy or crispy at all and that makes them delish to eat, I love the wheaty and oaty taste of the pastry and also the fact that it's not mega sweet so that I can enjoy the gorgeous sweet fruitiness of the blueberry filling. The filling is like jam, there aren't massive bits of blueberry in it because there isn't enough filling for Kelloggs to be able to do that. It's got a proper strong and fresh blueberry flavour though so I don't mind that much about the lack of actual blueberries, it would be nice though! lol I always think Nutri-Grain taste a lot like different flavoured Roly Poly and that's probably why they go so good with custard. I love how soft they are because most cereal bars are crunchy and I get bored of things like that. I also like the sweetness of them because even though the pastry is a bit sugary it's got a bit of a savoury taste too that goes proper nice with the sweet blueberry. There is also a bit of a burned taste to the pastry and that gives it a delish baked taste. I think these are wicked cereal bars that are deffo a change from the crunchy and mega sweet ones I also buy. The only down side is that they're not majorly filling so when I have one for breakfast I have some fruit at the same time to make sure I stay full up until dinner time. Recommended!!! ps - Does anyone know if you can warm these up???

Ok for bran lovers but not for me

I seen these cereal bars half price in Tesco a while ago, being a lover of anything with blueberry in it i thought i would give them a try. The Packaging *********** On the cardboard box you have the Kellogg's logo, lots of blueberries and a picture of a sliced soft bake bar, there is also a big blueberry splash informing you of "more fruit filling", round the sides of the box you get all the usual nutritional info, the bars are individually wrapped in foil type packaging with the same design as the box, the yummy pictures of blueberries and the sliced open bar on the packaging really influenced my porches. The Contents ********** You get eight soft bake bars in the pack and they are about the size of a average chocolate bar, the wrapper tears open quite easy revealing a light brown bar, break the bar open and it resembles a fig roll in look and texture and smells quite like brown bread, biting into it i found it softer then expected and it dissolves to a mush quite quickly apart from the bitty grains, you get the mixture of the strong sharp blueberry and dull wholegrain flavours which is quite a contrast. My Opinion ********* I don't really eat cereal bars much apart from the odd Kellogg's rice crispy squares but when i seen the yummy picture on the box i thought i would try these to have as a breakfast as i usually skip that meal, as i have said they are very soft and look like a fig roll which is not really a bad thing but they really do break down into a past like mushy goo very quickly when your eating them, the blueberry tastes very nice but it's over taken by the bran type taste which i personally don't like, then you get the gritty wholemeal bits that stick in your teeth, so overall a bit to soft and dry and bran tasting for me, if you like brown bread or bran flakes you might like these but i wont be buying them again.
