One my big weaknesses in life is crisps. I love them and they are the snack of choice for me. In a local shop recently they were selling off 5 bags of Kettle crisps for £1.00 (I got a sixth bag free too which was nice) and one of the flavours I bought was this one!
These come in dark purple on the inside but silver foil on the inside oblong bag and on the front of the bag and on the front of the bag and in beige and orange writing we are told that they are Kettle Ridge Crisps 'Flamed Steak Flavour' and that they are 'Hand Cooked Ridge Crisps' and the best before date is clearly stamped on there, we are told that they are 40g in size and there a picture of a flame shown and then on the back of the bag other information listed includes being told a bit about the crisps, the ingredients, an at a glance nutritional chart and full nutritional chart are all given and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly stated. This looks like a high quality bag as its nicely styled and looks appealing, I think more to us grown up than kids and the information given is plentiful.
I didn't much fancy this flavour when I bought them if I'm honest as I tend to prefer more fancy flavours as a rule but I bought them to try with a variety of other flavours. The crisps themselves are made of potatoes and are deeply ridged and cream in colour with plenty of dark brown seasoning on all of them. They are crunchy and taste of beef with a slight tang of onion to them and a nice sort of sweetness too. They really do taste nice and I love the crunch they have to them. They do feel quite greasy as I eat them however they are made using sunflower oil and trans fats opposed to the manufacturer using hydrogenated fat and they contain only natural flavours however nowhere on the bag am I told if these are suitable for Vegetarians and I cant tell by the list of ingredients if they are or not because, well I'm not a Vegetarian!
With 204 Calories and 3.3g of Saturated Fat per bag they are quite heavy for the hips however they are a nice, tasty treat and actually do fill a gap so make a nice snack!
These are a superb quality crisp and the flavour of these really is a sort of flaming beef and so yep I will be nipping back to the shop and buying a few more bags of them whilst they are on offer!
