Space raiders pickle onion flavour remind me of my days at primary school, we used to get a morning break where we were able to buy a snack of either a packet of three biscuits for 20p or a bag of space raiders for 10p. There was just something about the taste of these snacks that I just loved so most days I would have a packet for my break.

Space Raiders are made by KP Snacks and were introduced in the UK in the late 1970's and were priced at just 10p! This price remained until 2007 when it was increased to 15p per packet, I can remember my partner who is somewhat of a crisp addict being outraged by this price hike. But if you are careful and shop around it is possible to find multipacks of space raiders in certain shops for around £1 for 10 bags, my local Iceland and Poundland often have them.

The snacks themselves are alien shaped heads made from wheat and corn with pickle onion flavouring. The do have quite a strong flavour but I love that from snacks and crisps, to me the stronger the better.

The packets themselves are fairly small but I guess you can only expect so much from a product that costs just 15p. Although it does not state how many grams each packet contains there is nutritional information available on the front and the back of the pack. I tend to eat these when I am trying to cut down on my calorie intake as I love crisps so find it hard to give them up altogether but with these being smaller quantities I feel less guilty. On the back of the packet it also states that the snacks are baked and not fried and that they contain 75% less saturated fat than in 2005. The snacks come packed in a black foil packet and have a bright green alien head picture on the front with 'Space Raiders' written in large yellow writing above. They are described on the packet as being 'Pickle Onion Cosmic Corn Snacks'. On the back of the packet there is also a picture of an alien with its vital statistics which adds a fun element to the snacks.

Although the pickle onion flavour is by far my favourites Spaces Raiders are also available in other flavours including:

-Salt and Vinegar
-Spicy
-Saucy BBQ

I will say that if you have never tried these savoury snacks then you certainly should to me they just remind me of childhood and I love the tangy taste. They are also far cheaper than most crisps on the market and because they are a fairly small packet they are better on the waistline to.
