Advantages: Cheap, good enough quality unmessy to eat

Disadvantages: Bit bland in flavour for me

Today for my lunch I didnt fancy anything heavy or hot considering the weather more than a sandwich so I nipped to my local Spa shop to get a few bits and pieces and stumbled across bags of these costing only 20p and quite fancied them.

The Packaging:

The bag is quite bright and colourful, is foil black to the front of it and silver to the back ot of it with a picture of a green alien head on there and we are told that they are Space Raiders Pickled Onion Flavour Cosmic Corn Snacks and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown. On the back of the pack other information listed includes the ingredients and allergy advice being given as well as an at a glance nutritional chart, the best before date and size are given (25g) and contact details for the manufacturer is clearly listed. Nice, bright and informative packaging this is.

The Snacks:

Made of corn these are little alien head shapes, light golden coloured shaped snacks basically and very simple to look at and not frightening or anything. Quite thick and with a distinctive aroma of pickled onions to them these melt in the mouth though eat them quickly and they are nice and crispy. You can really taste the corn flavouring and they do taste like pickled onions in a watered down way and I did think that they would be more stronger in flavour than what they were.

At only 119 calories a pack which contains only 0.6g of saturated fat (per 25g sized bag) these were for me simply ok and nothing special. I do think they lacked flavour somewhat and are probably more suitable for a childs tastebuds more than mine!

Available in all good supermarkets etc at about 20p a packet.

Summary: An ok corn based snack but could be better
