Dairylea Strip Cheese...........
Jack and I both adore cheese and when I saw these ages I ago I couldn't help but try them out. I instantly loved them and so did Jacks so I have been buying them ever since they came out and half the time I have been trying not to scoff the whole packet.
The Dairylea Strip Cheese comes in either a four pack or an eight pack and although there is not much of a saving I always buy the 8 pack as it seems to vanish in out house! The price of the 8 packet is £1.89 pence and the four pack is priced at 98 pence.
The packet design is similar to all the other Dairylea products and is a light blue in colour with the Dairylea black and white cartoon cow pictured. The strips are housed inside the outer packaging and then individually wrapped in a easy to remove plastic wrapper. Jack can't take these off himself yet but they are so easy to do I am sure he will master that soon!
The Strip cheese is the same creamy colour that the regular Dairylea Triangles or spread is but the Strip Cheese is a lot firmer and not at all spreadable. It is slightly softer than regular block cheese but still has a slightly squidgy feel to it. They measure around 10cm or so in length and are about half and inch thick. They can be "stripped" apart as the name suggests but more in flat oblong strips compared to cheese strings that tend to tear in very fine pieces.
The Dairylea Strip Cheese smells just like standard Dairylea and it also has the same flavour. I personally love the taste of Dairylea in any form though I do think that the spreadable triangles and the spreadable pots you can buy come often taste a little too salty where as with this strip cheese I can't really taste any salt at all. They do however taste very creamy and delicious. The cheese taste is not strong though like a cheddar but very mild. They can taste rather milky but again this is an aspect both myself and Jack like.
Compared to cheese strings, these ones are far superior. They have a more natural taste and I would always opt for these no matter what. Jack won't eat cheese strings at all but he could eat these by the box load!
They are not too bad either as far as calories and fat go in cheese as per 21g packet there is 73 calories and 3.8 grams of saturated fat. The salt is still pretty high I feel at 0.5grams but with chese I guess this should be expected.
I do however adore these Strip Cheese's and because of that fact I will continue to buy them over any other cheese like this available. They are of a good price, good quality and they are mighty tasty!
A five star product and one I will give a high recommendation to.
I do hope this has been of some help/interest to you.
Many thanks for taking the time to come and read!
