Delicious little sponge cakes sandwiching a buttercream filling ... WHOOPIE!

I stumbled across this product in Marks and Spencers the other day when I fancied "cake" but had nothing more specific in mind. They looked delicious and with a funny sounding name like "Whoopie" I couldn't resist. I bought three packs in the following flavours:
      Chocolate and Vanilla
      Vanilla and Chocolate
      Toffee

Since I had never heard of them before, I got home and a quick google bought up the interesting fact that they are seen as the "new cupcake" the "cool cake around town" so to speak.

As far as I am aware they were originally an Amish desert, which took America by storm and the conquering power of the Whoopie has now come to England. At the moment, they are not widely available, the only store that I have ever seen them in is Marks and Spencers.

      CHOCOLATE AND VANILLA
This one is the first Whoopie, I tried. The sponge cake was chocolate flavoured and the buttercream is vanilla flavoured. While thoroughly delicious, I couldn't really taste the vanilla and the chocolate sponge was on par with other good chocolate sponges.

      VANILLA AND CHOCOLATE
Yes, it is the same flavours as the previous Whoopie, but this one has vanilla sponge cake sandwiching chocolate buttercream. I found the chocolate buttercream to be delicious and very chocolatey but the vanilla sponge lacked vanilla. The sponge tasted like regular chocolate chip sponge, which while being tasty I did miss the vanilla (I love vanilla).

      TOFFEE
This one has to be my favourite. The taste is so flavoursome, it is toffee sponge with toffee buttercream and just tastes like toffee through and through. This one is the sweetest of them all in my opinion, so after you have had two, they do get a bit sickly.

While I was waiting for my product suggestion to process I threw out the boxes and cannot find the nutritional information online =( I vaguely remember them being about 200 calories each but if anyone could comment the nutritional information, it would be greatly appreciated.

They are £2 for a pack of 4 and are currently on a 3 for 2 offer in M&S, so you are getting 12 delicious Whoopies for £4. This sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
