Delicious cookies from Maryland.

Advantages: Tasty cookies.
As we still have quite a bit of food left over from Christmas I just popped in to my local Sainsburys and picked up a few bits for the kids packed lunches (a waste of time now as they are off school due to the snow!) and I saw these Maryland chocolate chip cookies for just 44p (half price) so decided to pick up a couple of packets to give the kids a treat in their lunchboxes.
The cookies come packaged in a red and yellow foil packet that is very easy to open and once I opened it I just put the biscuits in to an airtight container as this keeps them fresh (like they last long anyway!) and means I can keep an eye on how many are being eaten at any one time (my eldest never knows her limits!). The packaging is very good as it keeps the biscuits all lined up in a uniform way and means that they stay nice and fresh until opened.
The cookies are quite a standard cookie size really and they are beige in appearance with lots of chocolate chips visible which is great as straight away you know you are going to get a yummy treat. The cookie is fairly hard and the chocolate chips are a delicious addition as they bring a sweetness to the cookie mix which really lifts the whole thing. The cookie itself is lovely and crunchy and crumbs go everywhere when I bite in to one of these cookies. There are lots of chocolate chips (22%) crammed in to this biscuit and this seems to be just the perfect amount to bring the taste together incredibly well and make these cookies stupidly moreish. I have often found myself eating 5 or 6 of these in one sitting just because they are so addictive and they taste even more delicious if they have been left in the fridge for an hour or two before eating. The biscuit goes even harder and the chocolate chips take on a delicious cool quality which works so well with the hard to snap biscuit.
Each cookie contains 57 calories, 0.7g protein, 7.4g carbohydrates (of which 3.9g sugars), 2.6g fat (of which 1.4g saturates), 0.1g fibre and a trace of sodium (less than 0.1g of salt) so overall these aren't too bad as long as you know your limits and have some willpower (which I don't!). These cookies are not suitable for anybody with an intolerance to wheat, gluten, milk or soya and they may contain traces of nuts (like everything in life really!).
These cookies are tasty and my children seem to love them just as much as me as a packet can last about three minutes in my household if left unattended! I will definitely be buying some more of these before the offer ends and although they aren't always on offer between Tesco & Sainsburys I seem to get these at half price or on buy one get one free most of the time so keep your eyes peeled if you love these. The sell by date is usually around a year as well so no need to worry about them going out of date.
Summary: Delicious cookies with chocolate chips.
