Advantages: Lovely flavour and texture.
Disadvantages: Addictive and slightly expensive.
Maryland Cookies are produced by Burton's Foods, in the UK. The recipe was originally brought over from the USA in 1956 and it has gone on to become one of the UK's best selling biscuits.
Maryland Chocolate Chip Cookies come in bright red foil packaging and are decorated with pictures of cookies and have yellow lettering. The do stand out well on the supermarket shelf.
When these cookies are open, they are best kept in a biscuit tin or other airtight container. They are very fresh and crunchy when first opened and you do really want to keep them that way. Maryland Cookies are delicious and after trying many other brands, I have decided that they really are hard to beat for texture and flavour.
These cookies have a lovely fresh crunch to them, but after you have taken that bite, they melt quickly in your mouth. You do find that they crumble slightly when you bite into them and you end out with some crumbs on your clothing.
The chocolate chips are chunky and there is plenty of them. They are smooth and creamy and the combination of sweet, crunchy biscuit and smooth, creamy chocolate is so more-ish, it's hard to stop at just a couple. Infact I quite often eat 3 or 4, which isn't great for the waistline!

Myself and my family love Maryland Cookies, especially the chocolate chip ones. They are that bit more expensive than Tesco's own brand, but they are worth it, although I do try to buy them when they are on special offer, if possible.
If you fancy a nice treat which isn't too high in calories, these are well worth buying. Just try not to eat too many if you can!
Summary: Maryland Cookies - crunchy cookies, with plenty of choc chips.
